Men's Soccer Battles to a Scoreless Draw at American

9.2.24 | Men's Soccer

BOYDS, Md. - The Temple men's soccer team fought to a 0-0 draw in their first road match of the season on Monday night against the American Eagles. Andrew Kempe snagged five saves as he denied the Eagles from capitalizing on any scoring opportunities throughout the match. With the draw, the Owls' record moves to 1-1-2 while the Eagles shift to 0-2-2.

American was in control offensively early on, as the Eagles struck five shots through the first 45 minutes with four being on goal. This kept Andrew Kempe busy with four of his five saves in the match occurring in the first half. On the offensive side of the ball, Xavier Rimpel fired off the first shot of the night for the Owls in the 16th minute. However, it wasn't until the 53rd minute that the Owls connected on another, as TU finished the evening with four total attempted shots in what was an all-around defensive battle.

Next, the Owls will return to Philadelphia to face off against the Penn Quakers on the road. The action is slated to start at 7 p.m. from Rhodes Field.
