PLYMOUTH MEETING, Pa. - Senior Michael Walsh and sophomore transfer Drew Clark are tied for ninth place individually and led the Temple golf team on the first day of the Temple Invitational. Walsh and Clark each shot one-over par 71 and are five shots off the lead heading into the final day of play on Sunday.

As a team, the Temple Cherry team stands in sixth place at 290 and the Temple White squad is eight shots behind at 298. Francis Marion holds the team lead six strokes in front of the Owls' top team at 284.

How It Happened

All 13 student-athletes on the roster took to the links on a beautiful day at The 1912 Club in Plymouth Meeting, Pa.
Clark, who saw his first action at Temple after a season at NYU, was participating as an individual and in the first group of the day to tee off.
Walsh was joined by junior Aidan Emmerich, senior Ethan Whitney, senior Joey Morganti, and senior Jake Naese on the Cherry Team and led the way with his round of 71.
Emmerich had a solid afternoon, shooting two-over par 72 to stand in 15th place while Whitney is one shot behind him and in 19th position at 73.
Morganti was the fourth scorer for the Owls' Cherry team and shot four-over 74.
The White team was led by junior Darren Nolan at three-over par 73, while sophomores Ben Saggers, Matthew Vital, and junior Brett McGrath all shot 75.

The second and final round of the Temple Invitational will begin on Sunday, Sept. 22 at 7:00 a.m.
Temple White will tee off right at 7:00 a.m., while the Cherry side will get started at 9:00 a.m.
