Temple concludes its two-game Texas swing on Saturday afternoon with a matchup against UTSA at the Convocation Center.
The Owls had their three-game winning streak snapped on Wednesday, as North Texas earned a 76-67 victory in a battle of first-place teams in the American Athletic Conference.
Sophomore Quante Berry had a career-high 24 points and classmate Zion Stanford added 17 off the bench.
Temple struggled to get things going offensively against the top defensive team in the AAC, shooting just 35.4 percent from the floor in the game.
Despite that, the Owls trailed by just four at 55-51 with 5:21 to play but could not get the big defensive stop necessary to get closer.
Berry has been a catalyst since joining the starting lineup six games ago, and is averaging 14.7 points, 4.5 rebounds and 3.5 assists over that six-game stretch while shooting 51.7 percent from the field and 55.0 percent from three-point range.
Stanford has also been a spark of late, scoring in double figures in each of the last three games and averaging 12.7 points per game on 51.6 percent from the floor.
The Owls and Roadrunners squared off three times last season, the first three games of the al-time series between the two schools.
Temple came away with all three wins, including a 64-61 victory in the opening round of the AAC Tournament in Dallas.
Shane Dezonie and Zion Stanford each averaged 10.0 points per game over those three wins, with Dezonie shooting 61.1% from the floor.

Scouting UTSA

The Roadrunners also played North Texas in their most recent game, a 72-57 defeat at home.
UTSA, who comes into the contest with an 8-10 record and 2-4 mark in AAC play, is averaging 78.8 points per game, roughly the same as Temple, to rank fourth in the AAC.
Defensively, the Roadrunners are 13th in the conference in field goal percentage defense (47.0%), but lead the league in steals (9.7/game).
Primo Spears, a transfer from Florida State, is averaging 21.1 ppg to lead the team. His points per game average is tied with Jamal Mashburn Jr. for second in the AAC in scoring.
