No. 11 Fencing Picks Up a Pair of Wins at Penn State Invitational

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The No. 11 Temple fencing team secured two hard-fought victories at the Penn State Invitational on Sunday. The Owls faced four USFCA top-15 ranked teams, including a notable win over No. 13 Penn State. Freshman Victoria Doroshkevich delivered a standout performance for Temple, earning nine victories (9-3) in epee.

MEET SUMMARY
- The Owls began the day with an 18-9 victory over Wagner before narrowly falling to No. 7 Penn, 13-14, and No. 4 Princeton, 11-16.
- Temple then bounced back with a 20-7 win against No. 13 Penn State.
- In the final match of the day, the Owls were upended by No. 3 Columbia, 20-7.
INDIVIDUAL HIGHLIGHTS
- In foil, junior Renee Oymann led the squad with six wins (6-7) on the day.
- Doroshkevich's nine wins more than doubled her career total, bringing her to 25 career victories (25-19).
- In sabre, sophomore Lauren Johnson finished the invitational with eight wins (8-4).
