Men’s Soccer Heads South for Conference Battle at Florida International

MIAMI - The Temple University men's soccer team will close its two-game road trip on Friday night, facing conference foe Florida International on Friday, Oct. 3. The Owls will look to get back into the win column after falling 2-0 to Monmouth. Entering Friday, the Panthers have a record of 4-4-2, including a 2-1 mark in conference play.
Scouting Temple
- Temple set two season-highs as a team against Monmouth, logging season bests with 17 shots and 10 corner kicks. Luka Lukic led Temple with three shots.
- The Owls and Panthers met last season in North Philadelphia, with the match ending in a 0-0 draw.
- Charlie Votel currently leads Temple with nine shots, while Chase Jackson leads with four shots on goal.
Scouting Florida International
- The Panthers face Temple after a 2-1 loss against No. 1 Portland. This was their second match of the season against a top-ten team, having previously fallen to No. 8 N.C. State 2-0.
- Florida International has two American Conference wins, defeating Memphis on the road 1-0 and downing Missouri State 1-0 at home.
- Head Coach Kyle Russell is in his sixth season as head coach of the FIU Panthers. Last season, Russell guided the Panthers to the conference championship match, where they fell to Charlotte 2-1 in overtime.
Series History against Florida International
This will be the fourth all-time matchup between Temple and FIU, with last year's contest ending in a scoreless draw.
