Harper and Greene Lead Temple in Road Match at USF

TAMPA, FLA. – Temple women's volleyball (11-11, 1-7 American) fell to South Florida (11-8, 7-1 American) Sunday afternoon at The Corral. The Owls' offense was paced by Leia Harper (12) and Christiana Greene (10), who each recorded double-digit kills.
HOW IT HAPPENED
SET 1 (Temple 18, South Florida 25)
The Owls opened the first set with kills from Christiana Greene and Leia Harper to take an early 2-1 lead.
The Bulls were the first to 20, building an eight-point advantage at 20-12.
Alyssa Finister and Harper combined for Temple's final points with a mix of aces, kills, and blocks, but USF controlled the remainder of the set to take it, 25-18.
SET 2 (Temple 20, South Florida 25)
Temple stayed close through the halfway mark, trailing by just three at 13-10 behind Harper and Greene.
Mickhaila Murray added two kills late in the frame, cutting the deficit to 20-17.
Despite a 3-0 run from the Owls late in the set, the Bulls closed it out, 25-20.
SET 3 (Temple 17, South Florida 25)
Both teams traded runs, keeping the lead within three points midway through the set, which featured five ties.
USF pulled away late to take the set, 25-17, and secure the match.
UP NEXT
Temple volleyball returns to North Broad for a pair of home matches this weekend. The Owls will face UAB on Friday at 6 p.m. and Memphis on Sunday at noon. Both matches will be streamed live on ESPN+.
