PHILADELPHIA – Temple women's volleyball (12-11, 2-7 American) defeated UAB (8-13, 1-8 American) in five sets Friday evening at McGonigle Hall. Leia Harper recorded a double-double with 12 kills and 13 digs, while Christiana Greene (16) and Alyssa Finister (10) also posted double-digit kills.

SET 1 (Temple 27, UAB 25)
After trailing by four early, the Owls' offense responded with kills from Alyssa Finister, Olivia Hummel, Katie Hickey, and Leia Harper to take a one-point advantage at 11-10.
Harper tied the match 22-22 with an ace, Temple's third of the set.
Finister sealed the opening frame with a kill, 27-25.

SET 2 (Temple 25, UAB 20)
Christiana Greene and Finister picked up where they left off, helping the Owls open set two with a 5-2 lead.
UAB rallied to cut the deficit to 13-11, but Greene and Harper responded with key kills to extend the lead to 21-14.
Greene closed the set with another kill, 25-20, giving Temple a 2-0 match lead.

SET 3 (Temple 26, UAB 28)
Greene recorded back-to-back aces followed by a kill to give Temple a 11-7 advantage.
Harper and Finister added late kills for a 19-18 edge, but UAB battled back to take the set, 28-26.

SET 4 (Temple 18, UAB 25)
Looking to bounce back, Greene and Harper each tallied three early kills to keep Temple within two, 8-6.
The Blazers pulled away midway through the set and led by as many as seven, 20-13.
Despite a late Temple push, UAB took the set, 25-18.

SET 5 (Temple 15, UAB 12)
Harper's ace marked the Owls' ninth of the match, giving them an early 3-1 lead.
Both teams traded points before Temple closed on a 3-0 run to secure the victory, 15-12.
