The Coach Nikki Franke Classic — A Year of Remembrance and Renovation

PHILADELPHIA - This year, Temple Fencing's annual Coach Nikki Franke Classic will feature a special cause: a service initiative with the Edward Gideon School in the Strawberry Mansion area of North Philadelphia. The Edward Gideon School is a K-8 Philadelphia Community Partnership school, meaning it serves its students, their families, and the surrounding community by providing much needed materials, programs, and services.
This effort is part of Temple Fencing's ongoing commitment to give back to North Philadelphia by supporting local students in need. The team has created a registry full of essential products the school needs to support their students throughout the school day and within the community. Items on the list include but are not limited to feminine hygiene products, underwear, socks, uniforms, black leggings for the dance team, and deodorant.
Through this registry, anyone can donate products that will be shipped directly to Coach Salmon's office. Temple Fencing will then proudly deliver them to the school. Supporters may also choose to donate a monetary amount through the registry. This will also go directly to Gideon School to fund school uniforms or other products.
Temple Fencing intends to make a community service initiative a tradition at The Classic to honor Coach and Mr. Franke's legacies of service and love for the communities of North Philadelphia. This year's Essential Supplies Drive for the Gideon School is in memory of student Omari Everette-Mitchell who tragically lost his life this past summer.
