Temple Set to Host Penn in Philly Soccer Six Showdown

PHILADELPHIA - The Temple University men's soccer team will return to North Broad on Tuesday evening as the Owls will face the Penn Quakers in a Philly Soccer Six matchup. The Quakers hold a 4-2-3 record, last defeating Harvard 2-0.
Scouting Temple
- The Owls enter Tuesday night after falling to FIU last Friday, 3-1. Paolo Kampula hit the back of the net for his second goal of the season, previously scoring against Ohio State (Aug 31).
- Penn is the final non-conference opponent the Owls will face this season. Temple's non-conference slate was highlighted by a 1-0 win against Lafayette on Sept 16.
- This is the first and only Philly Soccer Six matchup for Temple in 2025. Last year, the Cherry & White recorded a 1-3 record, defeating Villanova at home 3-2.
Scouting Penn
- Tuesday's match will be Penn's third Philly Soccer Six matchup of the season, previously drawing 3-3 against Drexel and winning against Villanova 3-0.
- Patrick Cayelli leads the Quakers with 14 points this season, with four goals and six assists. His four goals are tied for team-best alongside Romeo Dahlen.
- Brian Gill has been the head coach for the Penn Quakers since the 2018 season. Gill's coaching staff was named the 2024 Ivy League Coaching Staff of the Year as the Quakers recorded a 13-2-1 record and a perfect Ivy League campaign.
Series History against Penn
This will be the 42nd all-time matchup between the Quakers and Owls. The two sides faced off last year in a 4-0 Penn win on the west side of the Schuykill River.
