Owls Will Host ECU Before Traveling to Charlotte

PHILADELPHIA – Temple women's volleyball will host East Carolina on Friday at noon for its annual School Day Event and Temple Experience, welcoming students from across the Greater Philadelphia area. Following Friday's home match, the Owls will travel to Charlotte, North Carolina, for a Sunday noon matchup against the 49ers. Both matches will stream live on ESPN+.
OWLS IN THE NEST
Over the weekend, Christiana Greene powered Temple's offense across two matches, totaling 26 kills over seven sets while hitting .254. She tallied 13 kills in both contests and added nine digs, three blocks, and 29 total points. As a team, the Owls recorded 15 solo blocks and currently rank third in the conference in that category.
Freshman defensive specialist Maddie Metcalf anchored the back row with 17 digs, including a team-high 15 against Florida Atlantic, while maintaining a perfect 1.000 reception percentage and adding three service aces. Temple continues to lead the conference in total digs and digs per set, ranking ninth and 19th nationally, respectively.

East Carolina enters the weekend after a 3-0 sweep of Tulane, highlighted by sophomore Taryn Gilreath's triple-double performance with 14 assists, 11 digs, and 10 kills. Offensively, the Pirates are led by Ellia Pate, who has totaled 187 kills this season and 50 kills through four conference matches. On defense, Brooklyn Allison anchors the backcourt with over 200 digs in 15 matches. Head coach Adler Augustin is in his sixth season at the helm.

Charlotte is coming off a 3-1 victory over Tulane, led by Annika Thompson's career-high 29 digs, pushing her season total past 300 while averaging 5.22 digs per set. The 49ers feature five players with over 100 digs this season. Offensively, Kristen Birmingham leads the attack, averaging 4.28 kills per set with a .342 hitting percentage. Charlotte is guided by first-year head coach Benavia Jenkins.
