PHILADELPHIA – Recent Temple University graduate Taylor Davenport, a standout student-athlete for the volleyball program, has been named a recipient of the 2025 American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) T.E.A.M. Award, announced earlier this week. The AVCA's T.E.A.M. initiative highlights Togetherness, Empowerment, Accessibility, and Mentoring within the volleyball coaching community.
"I'm incredibly excited and grateful to receive this award! I commend the AVCA for championing essential values like Togetherness, Empowerment, Accessibility and Mentoring. I am super grateful to work in a program that also embodies these values and pushes us to grow as both coaches and people. I am excited to attend the convention, collaborate with coaches who embody this program's mission, and bring back valuable lessons and new strategies to Temple University Volleyball," said Davenport.
The AVCA announced 44 recipients of this year's T.E.A.M. Awards. The honor is part of a college development program that connects emerging volleyball leaders at the 2025 AVCA Convention in Kansas City. The AVCA T.E.A.M. Committee will focus on open, meaningful dialogue and action aimed at eliminating barriers to advancement in the volleyball coaching profession and to participation in the sport of volleyball. The Committee also seeks to elevate the sport through the AVCA T.E.A.M. Awards Program by embracing the power of recognition and the transformational effect of professional and personal development programming.
The AVCA T.E.A.M. Awards are a demonstration of the Association's commitment to the volleyball coaching profession and the sport of volleyball. The AVCA, in collaboration with the newly established AVCA Ad Hoc T.E.A.M. Committee1, is committed to fostering a strong sense of community, delivering meaningful value, and empowering coaches as leaders at all levels of the sport of volleyball—while also supporting their growth and long-term success in their coaching careers.
"We are extremely proud of Taylor for continuing her legacy of representing Temple Volleyball on the national stage as she has been selected as an AVCA TEAM Scholarship recipient. This prestigious honor recognizes emerging coaches who demonstrate exceptional promise and a strong commitment to advancing the sport and supporting student-athletes. We are confident that this experience will provide Taylor with valuable opportunities to learn from and engage with some of the top professionals in our field. Her dedication, leadership, and positive influence continue to elevate our program and embody the excellence of Temple Volleyball," said head coach Linda Hampton-Keith.
