Temple End Road Slate with Tight Loss to North Texas

PHILADELPHIA – Temple women's volleyball (15-13, 5-9 American) fell to North Texas (20-7, 10-4 American) on Sunday afternoon at the UNT Volleyball Center, closing out their final road match of the 2025 season. Christiana Greene recorded her third double-double of the year with 20 kills and 11 digs. Leia Harper and Alyssa Finister each added 11 kills for the Owls.
SET 1 (Temple 21, North Texas 25)
Greene and Finister got off to a hot start with two kills apiece, helping Temple jump out to an early 6-3 lead.
The Owls extended their advantage to four after a series of blocks and kills from Harper and Katie Hickey, 15-11.
North Texas responded with a late rally, taking a 19-18 lead and closing out the set, 25-21.
SET 2 (Temple 25, North Texas 27)
Temple opened the second set on a 5-0 run fueled by kills from Greene and Harper and blocks from Hickey and Greene.
The teams traded points throughout, with nine ties before the media timeout, as Temple led 15-14.
Coming out of the break, Greene delivered two aces and Daniella Gonzalez Murati added her second kill to extend the lead to 20-16.
North Texas answered with a 5-0 run to go up 24-21. Despite Temple's late push, the Mean Green took the set, 27-25.
SET 3 (Temple 25, North Texas 17)
Temple came out strong again, jumping to a 6-1 lead behind aces from Yoza and Harper.
North Texas cut the deficit to two, 14-12, but the Owls regained control behind multiple kills from Greene to make it 16-11.
Three straight blocks from Gonzalez Murati, Finister, and Olivia Hummel pushed the lead to 23-16 as Temple closed the set, 25-21.
SET 4 (Temple 21, North Texas 25)
Temple trailed early, 6-3, but back-to-back kills from Greene gave the Owls a 13-10 lead midway through the set.
Both teams traded points down the stretch until North Texas closed on a 3-0 run to secure the set and match victory.

Finister and Greene each tallied five kills in the opening set.
Temple scored the first two points in each of the first three sets.
Four Temple players finished with double-digit kills, led by Qairo Bentley with 22.
