PHILADELPHIA - Temple men's tennis battled past Norfolk State for a hard-earned victory, securing three singles wins before sealing the match with crucial doubles point. The Owls found themselves in a tight contest after splitting singles play 3-3, but they delivered in doubles, winning both completed matches to clinch the team victory.

How It Happen

Temple started with singles, Martim Marujo extended Temple's lead with a dominant 6-3, 6-1 win at the No. 1 spot. Dante Russo followed with a hard-fought 6-4, 7-6(1) victory over Deniz Okyay at No. 3.
At No. 5, Erden Er extended Temple's lead by securing a crucial point with a hard-fought 6-2, 3-6, 10-5 victory.
Temple secured the doubles point with wins at the No. 1 and No. 2 spots. Marujo and Adam Kresina battled to a 7-6(6) victory, while Russo and Maj Najvirt Kolaric claimed a 6-3 win to clinch the match for the Owls.
