No. 8 Fencing Earns Three Ranked Wins, Finishes 4-1 on Senior Day

PHILADELPHIA – No. 8 Temple Fencing hosted the Temple Invitational at McGonigle Hall on Sunday, finishing the meet with a 4-1 record, including three wins over USFCA top-15 opponents.
During the lunch break, Temple honored the seven seniors in the program: Caira Blake, Constanca Dimas, Arwen Gormley, Cindy Long, Anna Novoseltseva, Eva Ventura, and Alex Weinberg.

MEET SUMMARY
- Temple opened the day with a 17-10 victory over No. 15 Penn State, highlighted by milestone performances from sabreist Arwen Gormley and foilist Renee Oymann, who each earned their 100th career win.
- The Owls followed with a 15-12 win over Johns Hopkins before falling to No. 4 Princeton, 10-17.
- After the lunch break, Temple bounced back with a 15-12 victory over No. 10 Penn.
- In the final bout of the day, the Cherry and White secured a 4-1 finish by defeating No. 13 St. John's.
INDIVIDUAL HIGHLIGHTS
- The Owls posted a 65-64 overall record in individual bouts on Sunday.
- Senior Anna Novoseltseva led the foil squad with a 7-1 record, including sweeps against No. 4 Princeton and No. 13 St. John's.
- Epeeists Lindsey Minor (9-3) and Victoria Doroshkevich (8-1) paced their squad, which finished 28-17 on the day.
- Senior sabreist Alexandra Weinberg was a standout for the sabre squad, earning six wins (6-4).
