PHILADELPHIA – Temple women's tennis secured a commanding 4-0 victory over LIU, dominating both singles and doubles. The Owls claimed the doubles point with strong performances, as Marianthi Christoforidou and Thamara Kawaratani edged out Mia Tsoukalas and Lucia Garrigues 6-1, while Maria Martinez and Aditi Vaidya cruised to a 6-0 win over Paula Guillen Cerver and Mueller.
How It Happened
- Christoforidou set the tone in singles with a dominant 6-2, 6-0 victory over Clara Tardivel.
- Irmak Ozturk followed with a gritty 6-4, 6-4 win against Garrigues, and Kawaratani sealed the team win with a hard-fought 6-2, 7-6(6), 6-3 victory over Ksenia Reznitskaya.
- Martinez (6-4), Nina Andreoni (3-0), and Aditi Vaidya saw their matches go unfinished, but the Owls had already secured the sweep with a decisive performance.
