2.24.25 | Men's Golf

DORADO BEACH, Puerto Rico - Junior Aidan Emmerich shot a team-best, one-under round of 71 as Temple completed the second day of the Dorado Beach Collegiate in a tie for sixth place as a team. The Owls shot 293 and are five shots behind Loyola (Md.) and UConn, who are tied for fourth.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • Emmerich carded six birdies on his round, and stood at three-under par through 11 holes thanks to four birdies and a single bogey during that stretch.
  • The junior is four-under par overall for the tournament and sits in 12th place individually, just one stroke out of the top 10.
  • Senior Jake Naese carded a one-over par 73, including four birdies, while classmates Ethan Whitney (74) and Michael Walsh (75) rounded out the team's top four on the day.
  • Overall, the Owls are eight-under par for the tournament with a pair of golfers (Emmerich, Naese (-1)) in red numbers heading into the final round of action.
  • UNC Greensboro, the host institution, shot nine-under par and hold a four-shot lead over Illinois State.
  • UNCG's Jack Marcotte holds a one-shot lead over Jeff Nelson of Winthrop in the race for medalist honors.
