Men's Tennis Prepares to Take on Navy This Sunday

ANNAPOLIS, MD. - The Owls will face Navy on Sunday, March 23, at 1:00 PM, following a solid 4-1 victory over St. Bonaventure University. With their strong performance in the last match, the Owls are determined to keep their momentum going and deliver another competitive showing.

The Owls will be back in action on Friday, Mar. 28, taking on Siena College at 2:00 PM. The day will kick off with a grand opening ceremony for the new courts at 11:00 AM.

SCOUTING TEMPLE
- Temple claimed the doubles point against St. Bonaventure with strong performances on courts three and one. Pranav Nemani and Erden Er won 6-0 at No. 3, while Martim Marujo and Adam Kresina sealed the point with a 6-4 win at No. 1.
- Senior Dante Russo put the Owls ahead early with a 6-4, 6-0 win at No. 4, and sophomore Maj Najvirt Kolaric extended the lead with a 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 3
- Marujo, from Portugal, played a pivotal role in securing the win for Temple, dominating at No. 1 singles with a 6-4, 6-3 victory. His strong performance helped the Owls maintain control of the match and ultimately clinch the team triumph.
SCOUTING NAVY
- Navy men's tennis recently fell to No. 44 UC Irvine by a 6-1 score. The match was competitive, with the doubles point going down to the wire. Navy's No. 3 duo of Graydon Buckingham and Zach Quattro posted a dominant 6-1 win, but UC Irvine's 90th-ranked team of Andy Nguyen and Noah Zamora secured the doubles point with a 7-6(5) victory. In singles, Navy won from Jake Young at No. 3, who defeated Rithvik Krishna 6-4, 6-4. However, UC Irvine swept the remaining singles matches in straight sets. Luke Garner and Herrick Legaspi faced tough competition, losing 6-0, 6-0, and 6-4, 6-4, respectively, to their opponents.
