PHILADELPHIA - The Temple University men's crew team has yet to open its championship racing season but did receive good news on Wednesday, as the varsity 8 earned a national ranking in the IRCA/IRA Preseason Top 25 Coaches Poll.
The Owls come in at No. 24 in the season-opening poll, just ahead of UC San Diego. The University of Washington received eight first-place votes and earned the top spot, with Cal, Harvard, Princeton, and Yale rounding out the top five.
Temple concludes its exhibition season on Saturday, March 29, with a strong test in New Jersey, as the Owls take on three teams who all rank in the nation's top 20 - No. 4 Princeton, No. 16 Georgetown, and No. 18 La Salle.
