Men's Crew Defeats Pair of Ranked Squads in New Jersey

PRINCETON, N.J. - The Temple University men's crew team, entering the opening weekend of the spring season ranked No. 19 in the preseason IRCA/IRA coaches poll, earned victories over No. 16 La Salle and No. 18 Georgetown on Lake Carnegie Saturday.
The Owls walked through the Explorers over the final 750 meters to earn a second-place finish behind No. 5 Princeton. Temple's top boat crossed in a time of 6:29.7, nearly two seconds faster than La Salle and almost four seconds in front of Georgetown.
Three other boats competed for the Owls, with Temple's second varsity eight also taking home a second-place showing in front of La Salle and Georgetown. The third varsity picked up a win over the Hoyas, while the fourth varsity eight squared off against both the fourth and fifth varsity boats from Princeton.
