Men's Tennis Set for Road Test at Rider Before Returning to Face Drexel

LAWRENCEVILLE, N.J. – Men's tennis hits the road to face Rider University on Tuesday, April 1, at 2:00 p.m. in Lawrenceville, N.J. The Owls will then return to Philadelphia for a matchup against Drexel University on Thursday, April 3, at 11:00 a.m.
SCOUTING TEMPLE
- During the match againstagainst Siena University, Temple, the team secured the opening point with victories at No. 2 and No. 3 doubles, as Martim Marujo/Aayush Bhat dominated 6-2, and Pranav Nemani/Alberto Blumenschein clinched the point with a 6-4 win.
- The Owls controlled singles action, with Maj Najvirt Kolaric, Dante Russo, Marujo, Bhat, and Blumenschein all winning in straight sets to seal the team victory.
- Despite the final score, Temple showed resilience against St John's University, with Erden Er pushing his opponent to two tiebreak sets at No. 5, while Russo and Bhat were locked in tight contests before play was halted.
SCOUTING RIDER
- At the match against Quinnipiac, Matteus Froberg Dahlin won at both No. 1 doubles and No. 2 singles, leading Rider with a 7-5 doubles victory and a 6-0, 7-6, 1-0 win in singles.
- Rider took the early lead with doubles victories at No. 1 and No. 3, securing the doubles point with Froberg Dahlin and Dhruv Tangri winning 7-5.
- Despite the strong start, Rider fell short in singles, with Quinnipiac sweeping the remaining four flights to clinch the 4-3 victory.
SCOUTING DREXEL
- During the match against UNCW, Drexel secured the doubles point with a tight 7-6(7) win from Alex De Sousa and Roman Lafond at No. 1 and a 6-4 victory from Will Burridge and Hussein El Tawil at No. 2.
- Josue Guzman earned a straight-set win at No. 6, defeating Alexander Thompson 7-5, 6-3 to contribute to Drexel's points.
- Despite the strong doubles performance, Drexel struggled in singles, with the Dragons dropping five out of six flights, including a tough loss for Hussein El Tawil after winning the first set.
