PHILADELPHIA – 5th year Brooke Donabedian and Freshman Robyn Dunne have been voted EAGL award winners for this past week's competition at North Carolina. Donabedian was named EAGL Specialist of the Week and Dunne named EAGL Rookie Specialist of the Week.
Last Friday, Temple took on #23 North Carolina, Penn, and Yale in which the Owls came out of that meet in second place, posting their highest team score of the season. Donabedian contributed to this on both beam and floor. The Maple Valley, Wash. native finished with a 9.850 on beam, good enough for fourth place overall on the apparatus. On floor, Donabedian scored a 9.825 which was tied for third place. This marks the fourth straight week that Donabedian has scored at least a 9.800 or higher on floor.
Taking on one of the best beam teams in the country in North Carolina, Dunne rose to the occasion posting a career-high score of 9.900 on the apparatus. This was good enough to be tied for first place in the event for the freshman.
The Owls are in action today as they take on the Maryland Terrapins at home starting at 12:00 PM for the team's School/Superhero Day.
