Curry, East, Gary, & Turner Earn AAC Postseason Honors

PHILADELPHIA – Temple women's basketball players Kaylah Turner, Savannah Curry, Tarriyonna Gary, and Tiarra East earned postseason honors from the American Athletic Conference. Turner was named AAC Sixth Player of the Year and to the All-Newcomer Team. Curry was named to the All-Freshman Team, while East and Gary were named to the First-Team All-Conference for the AAC.

Kaylah Turner has played in 28 games, starting in two. She averaged 10.1 points per game (third on the team), shooting 41% from the floor and 37% from behind the arc. Turner recorded a career-high 25 points against FAU and earned her first collegiate double-double after scoring 22 points and grabbing 11 rebounds (a career-high) against Tulane.

Savannah Curry played in all 29 games this season. She scored a season-high 12 points and grabbed five rebounds against Georgetown, shooting 5-8 from the field. Curry also recorded a season-high three steals against FAU.

Tarriyonna Gary appeared in all 29 games and started in several. She is averaging 12.1 points per game on 39% shooting. Gary has a 38% 3-point shooting percentage and a 76% free-throw shooting percentage. The Florida native had a career-high 26 points against ECU, shooting 10-18, and tied her career-high with seven 3-pointers against Wichita State. Gary ranked 12th in the AAC in 20-point games with four and fourth in the AAC in 3-point percentage (37.7%). She also ranked 6th in the AAC in 3-pointers made (2.33 per game). In AAC play, she ranked 1st in 3-point percentage (45.4%) and 3rd in 3-pointers made (2.75 per game).

Tiarra East appeared in and started all 29 games this season. Leading the team in scoring, she is averaging 13.5 points per game on 37% shooting from the field. East is shooting 74.2% from the free-throw line and is averaging 4.9 rebounds, 2.3 assists, and 1.3 steals per game. The Kentucky native had six 20-point games this season, ranking 6th in the AAC. She also ranked 9th in the AAC in scoring and field goal percentage, and 6th in free-throw percentage (74.2%). East set a new career-high against Rice after dropping 33 points on 10-16 shooting while going 10-12 from the free throw line.
