News & Notes
•The Owls finished the regular season with a 60-54 win over Charlotte on Tuesday, earning their sixth straight victory. Tiarra East (18 points), Kaylah Turner (11 points), and Tarriyonna Gary (10 points) were the leading scorers for the Owls against Charlotte.
• Temple finished the season with a free throw percentage of 73.1, which ranked second in the AAC. The Owls were third in the AAC in steals, with 9.6 per game.
• Defensively, Temple finished second in the American Athletic Conference in turnovers forced per game at 19.07. The Owls were first in turnover margin at 3.48.
• Temple was fourth in the AAC in bench points with 19.8 per game and fourth in Offensive Rebounds, averaging 13.5 a game.
• Tristen Taylor ranked 23rd in the country in the Assists/Turnover ratio, at 2.44, and was also number one in the American Athletic Conference.
Scouting the Hurricane
• Tulsa closed out the regular season on a five-game winning streak, capping it off with a 58-46 victory at Wichita State, shooting 32.8% from the field.
• Delanie Crawford leads the team in scoring with 16.9 points per game, ranking fourth in the conference. She also holds the top spot in free throw percentage at 86.4% and has recorded seven 20-point games. Mady Cartwright and Elise Hill also contribute, each averaging over 10 points per game.
• Defensively, three Hurricanes rank among the top 15 in the league for steals per game. Crawford leads the trio in fourth place with 2.4 steals per game, followed by Bradley in 11th (2.2) and Periman in 13th (2.0).
• In their last matchup against Temple, the Owls secured a 73-71 victory with a game-winning basket. Tulsa did not attempt a free throw in the first quarter and had only three attempts in the second, finishing the game with just five total. Temple also dominated the boards, outrebounding Tulsa 40-31.
Scouting FAU
• FAU closed the season with a 69-62 win over Charlotte on Tuesday.
• Before the win on Tuesday, FAU had lost seven straight, which the Owls hadn't won since February 1 when FAU beat Rice.
• FAU had two 7-game losing streaks during the regular season.
• The Owls were 3-15 in conference play, with wins over ECU, Rice, and Memphis.
• The Owls on the road had a 2-12 record.
Scouting the 49ers
• Following the loss to Temple on Tuesday, Charlotte closed the season on a three-game losing streak.
