Three Temple Owls Join NFL Ranks
4.28.25 | Football
PHILADELPHIA – Following the 2025 NFL Draft, three Temple football players were given the opportunity to take the next steps in pursuing their dreams of playing in the NFL. Kicker Maddux Trujillo and defensive end/linebacker Diwun Black were signed as undrafted free agents by the Indianapolis Colts, and Baltimore Ravens, respectively, while wide receiver Dante Wright was invited to participate in rookie camp for the Kansas City Chiefs.
Trujillo set records in his lone season on North Broad, securing him a spot on the All-American Athletic Conference second-team. In Week Four vs. Utah State, Trujillo made a 64-yard FG, setting a record for the longest FG in Lincoln Financial Field History. Two weeks later, Trujillo broke another stadium's record, this time at UConn and Rentschler Field with a 60-yard FG. With those two conversions, the Georgia native now holds the two longest FGs in Temple Football history.
Black did not see game action until Week Five this season, but made the most of his final eight games, earning him second-team All-AAC honors. Black made life difficult for opposing quarterbacks, tallying eight hurries on the year, while also forcing two fumbles and six TFLs.
Wright, the Owls go-to receiver all season, earned first team All-AAC honors. Wright finished the year hauling in 61 receptions for 792 receiving yards and was on pace to break the 1,000-yard mark if not for missing four games due to injury. The senior finished his Temple career with 100 receptions, placing him 16th on the program's all-time receptions list.
This gives Temple 19 active players participating in NFL camps this summer (the numbers include all players who earned their degree from Temple such as Braswell, Ebiketie and Yeboah).
Black, Trujillo and Wright join the following former 16 Owls currently in the NFL:
Atlanta Falcons – Arnold Ebiketie
