IRA National Championships Up Next for Temple Men's Crew

PENNSAUKEN, N.J. - The Temple men's crew program will compete at the 2025 IRA National Championships on the Cooper River, beginning on Friday, May 30 and running through Sunday, June 1. The Owls have three nationally-ranked boats entered in a field that features the nation's top collegiate crew teams.
ABOUT THE OWLS
The 2025 IRA National Championships will be held on the Cooper River in Pennsauken, N.J. No tickets are required to attend the event. Street parking is available along the course.

8:16 a.m. - Heat 1 - Men's Varsity 8
9:12 a.m. - Heat 2 - Men's Second Varsity 8
9:52 a.m. - Heat 3 - Men's Third Varsity 8
Saturday, May 31 - Semifinal Round (Temple Race Times Dependent on Friday's Results)
8:32 a.m. - Men's Varsity 8 A/B Semifinals
8:48 a.m. - Men's Second Varsity 8 A/B Semifinals
9:04 a.m. - Men's Third Varsity 8 A/B Semifinals

ABOUT THE OWLS
- Temple returns to competition three weeks after an impressive showing at Dad Vail Regatta on the Cooper River.
- The Owls earned gold in both the Varsity 8 and Second Varsity 8, with both races coming down to the wire.
- Following a change in the racing schedule that shifted all grand finals to the morning, Temple defeated La Salle by just over three-tenths of a second to win the Richard O'Brien - James Hanna Trophy.
- The V8 enters IRA National Championships ranked No. 16 in the country, just behind Georgetown and in front of La Salle, Columbia, Oregon State, and Navy.
- Temple's second varsity eight also had a fight to the finish in its grand final at Dad Vails, edging Drexel by just under a second to take home the Bayer Trophy.
- The 2V8 sits in the No. 15 position nationally, according to the IRCA/IRA Top 25 poll released on May 21, in front of Columbia, Drexel and La Salle.Â
- Rounding out the entrants at IRA National Championships is the 3V8, ranked No. 21 in the latest Top 25 poll, in front of Gonzaga, Saint Joseph's and Santa Clara.
