7.15.25 | Field Hockey

PHILADELPHIA – Following a 2024 campaign that saw the Temple University field hockey team reach the BIG EAST Championship game for just the third time in program history, the Owls are poised to build on that success with an 18-game regular-season slate in 2025.

Before the regular season begins, Temple will host a pair of scrimmages at Howarth Field. The Owls welcome Rider on Friday, Aug. 22, and defending national runner-up Saint Joseph's on Sunday, Aug. 24. Both scrimmages are scheduled for noon.

The regular season opens on the road at Delaware on Sunday, Aug. 29, followed by the home opener against Central Michigan on Sunday, Aug. 31.

Temple returns to the road to begin September, visiting Monmouth on Friday, Sept. 5, and Bucknell on Sunday, Sept. 7. The following weekend features matchups with a pair of Lehigh Valley opponents, as the Owls host Lafayette on Friday, Sept. 12, before traveling to Bethlehem to face Lehigh on Sunday, Sept. 14.

The road swing continues with a midweek contest at City 6 rival Drexel on Tuesday, Sept. 16, followed by the BIG EAST opener at Georgetown on Sunday, Sept. 19.

Temple wraps up the month with back-to-back home contests, welcoming Villanova on Friday, Sept. 26, and Richmond on Sunday, Sept. 28.

The Owls open October on the road at Quinnipiac on Friday, Oct. 3, then take a week off before returning to Howarth Field to host UConn on Friday, Oct. 10, and Richmond on Sunday, Oct. 12.

A rematch of the 2024 BIG EAST Semifinals is set for Friday, Oct. 17, when Temple travels to Old Dominion in Norfolk, Va. The Owls step out of conference two days later to visit Penn on Sunday, Oct. 19.

Temple closes out its home schedule with games against Liberty on Friday, Oct. 24, and Yale on Sunday, Oct. 26, which will also serve as Senior Day.

The regular season concludes at Providence on Friday, Oct. 31.

The Owls will be aiming for their sixth straight BIG EAST Championship appearance, with the 2025 tournament scheduled for Nov. 7–9 in Lynchburg, Va., and hosted by Liberty.

Temple finished 12-8 last season and reached the conference title game for the first time since 2015. Head coach Michelle Vittese enters her fifth season at the helm of the program.
