Men’s and Women’s Tennis Earn 2024-25 ITA Academic Honors

TEMPE, Ariz. - The Temple men's and women's tennis teams were named 2024-25 All-Academic teams by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association while 13 Owls were named ITA Scholar Athletes, as announced by the organization.
Men's tennis players Aayush Bhat, Alberto Blumenschein, Maj Najvirt Kolaric, Adam Kresina, Martim Marjuo, and Pranav Nemani, along with women's tennis players Nina Andreoni, Shevita Aulana, Marianthi Christoforidou, Martyna Mackiewicz, Irmak Ozturk, Aditi Vaidya, and Maria Wang Martinez Oliveras were all honored for their successes both on the court and in the classroom.
The women's tennis team garnered a team GPA of 3.72 while the men's team registered a GPA of 3.59. The academic honor marks the eighth straight season for the women and the 10th straight season for the men.
For the men, Blumenschein is a three-time honoree, while Kolaric, Bhat, and Kresina are repeat award winners with Temple.
On the women's side, Christoforidou was a repeat winner.
To be named an ITA Scholar-Athlete, a student-athlete must have a grade point average of at least 3.5 for the current academic year (on a 4.00 scale) and be listed on the institutional eligibility form.
To be named an ITA All-Academic Team, programs must meet the following requirements: 1.) have a team grade point average of 3.2 or above (on a 4.00 scale), 2.) all student-athletes included should be listed on the institutional eligibility form, and 3.) all varsity letter winners should be factored into the cumulative team GPA for the current academic year.
