Wednesday, July 30
With the sun shining down on Chodoff Field, the Owls came out ready to go for the first fall practice of 2025.

In the first team period of the day, the defense stood stout, now allowing the offense to get into a rhythm. Senior defensive tackle Sekou Kromah burst into the backfield from the first play to stand up the running back and end the play. Redshirt senior quarterback Evan Simon was firing accurately into tight windows early, including a 15-yard connection to redshirt senior receiver Kajiya Hollawayne.

In the only seven-on-seven period of practice, the offense, specifically the wide receivers stood out in a big way. Right from the jump, redshirt junior receiver JoJo Bermudez took the top off the defense for a 40-yard catch-and-run. Simon found him streaking by the safety in the middle of the field and delivered the ball to him in stride. Transfer quarterback Gevani McCoy made plays during his reps throughout the second team period. The QB found wide receiver Tyler Stewart down the sideline for a 30-yard gain, once again displaying the offensive efficiency throughout seven-on-sevens.

The final team period of the day was an even balance of success from both sides of the ball. Transfer running back Jay Ducker took an early handoff up the middle of the line without being touched, a testament to the offensive line for creating space for him. As the period went on the defense gained momentum, stopping the offense in the backfield. Sultan Badmus and Tyrese Whitaker each made plays in the backfield to stop the run almost immediately.

Thursday, July 31
Day two of fall camp presented the similar hot conditions as day one did, testing the Owls right from the jump. Today's practice featured three team periods: two 11-on-11 periods, and one 7-on-7.

In the first 11-on-11 period, there was a balance of success on both offense and defense. Tyrese Whitaker continued his success from day one into today's practice, getting quick pressure on the quarterback, which resulted in a sack of his own. Redshirt-junior safety made his first standout play of camp, intercepting the quarterback towards the end of the first team period. The New Jersey native had sticky coverage on his receiver and jumped the crossing route for the pick. Quarterback Evan Simon and wide receiver JoJo Bermudez are continuing to build their connection as Simon hit the receiver for a 35-yard gain towards the sideline. Simon placed the ball exactly where it needed to be for the completion.

Period two featured 7-on-7 action. Redshirt freshman Adrian Laing stood out in this period, making plays early. Laing held tight coverage on his receiver that allowed him to defend the pass and bat the ball to the ground for an incompletion. Redshirt senior running back Hunter Smith found success through the air today as Simon hit him in stride for a 30-yard gain in tight coverage.

In the final 11-on-11 team period of practice, the defense got the better of the offense. Redshirt senior linebacker Cam'Ron Stewart made his presence known in the backfield, jumping in quickly to force the running back to the outside for a minimal gain on the play. Redshirt freshman safety Jack Paessler also got to the backfield during the period. Paessler blitzed off the right side of the line forcing the QB to rush and get outside the pocket.

Friday, August 1
Fall camp day three featured significantly different conditions than the first two days. The sun was hidden behind a gray sky and temperatures were a lot more bearable. The Owls conducted three team periods today, all 11 on 11 action.

The first period featured balanced success by both the offense and defense. Sekou Kromah has had a lot of flashy plays for the defensive line early this fall, and that remained consistent at the start of practice today. The defensive edge bull rushed his opposition and get into the backfield quickly, resulting in a simulated sack. Redshirt-sophomore quarterback Tyler Douglas shined throughout this period. Douglas had multiple highlight plays, but a 30-yard gain over the middle of the field to tight end Peter Clarke was the best of those plays. Clarke was streaking down the middle of the field uncovered and Douglas hit him in stride.

The defense stood stout in the second 11-on-11 period. The entire defense was swarming to the ball carrier at all levels. Sultan Badmus, Zyil Powell, and Aaron Beckwith joined together to stuff the run early in the session, each shedding blocks to make the play. Tyrese Whitaker and Joseph Auzenne teamed up in the backfield to put a lot of pressure on the quarterback, speeding up his internal clock. This forced the QB to get rid of the ball to a risky spot, which was almost intercepted by safety Pooh Lawton.

In the final team period of Friday, Evan Simon stood out on a couple of plays. The quarterback showed his mobility within the pocket while delivering an accurate ball to his receivers. Simon found running back Jay Ducker over the middle of the field while he had a lot of pressure from linebacker Curly Ordonez in his face. The lone turnover of the day came late in this period courtesy of Ordonez. The junior was spying the quarterback, following him outside of the pocket, faded back and plucked the ball out of the air.

Saturday, August 2
The final day of week one is in the books at Edberg-Olson Hall. Today's environment featured blue skies and mild temperatures compared to earlier in the week. Today's practice featured four team periods, three 11 on 11 sessions and one 7 on 7.

Defense ruled the day in many ways and that started in the first team period. Junior corner back Omar Ibrahim tallied the first turnover of the day early. Ibrahim high-pointed an arrant throw to secure the interception. Redshirt freshman Jack Paessler also pulled in an interception during the first team period. The Pennsylvania native plucked a floating ball out of the air for the turnover.

The second team period featured some successes by the offense. Evan Simon and Colin Chase are getting more comfortable with each other, connecting a handful of times throughout this period. Simon continues to handle pressure well in the pocket. He found JoJo Bermudez over the middle of the field for a 10-yard gain with multiple defenders in his face.

The defense continued to dominate during the 7-on-7 period. Sophomore safety Willy Love made a diving pass breakup, showing off his length and athleticism. Graduate student tight end Jake Woods was able to flash his ball skills on one play during the third team period. Woods was 20-yards down the field and made a diving catch between defenders and was able to secure the ball to the ground.

The running backs made their mark in the final team session of the day. Jay Ducker and Joquez Smith each broke off big runs, thanks to the blocks from the offensive line. The line created big holes for each of the running backs. The defense continued to get pressure in the backfield throughout this final period. Redshirt senior safety Javier Morton was a force in the backfield on one play, stopping the running back almost immediately on a run blitz.

Monday, August 4
Week two of fall camp is officially underway at 10th & Diamond. The Owls practiced under ideal conditions Monday morning with mild temperatures and a clear sky above. Today's practice featured four team periods, three of which were 11-on-11 periods.

The opening team period was the Colin Chase show. Chase, a redshirt junior wide receiver, made two big catches thanks to deliveries from Evan Simon. Chase made a toe-tapping catch along the sideline over the defender for a 20-yard gain. Simon would find Chase later in the period with pressure in his face, but stayed poised to find Chase over the middle of the field for another 20-yard pick up.

During the second team period, the defense found its groove. Cam'Ron Stewart, a redshirt senior linebacker, was wreaking havoc in the backfield, forcing the running backs to bounce to the boundary on multiple occasions. Defensive tackle Sekou Kromah also made his presence known in the backfield as he blew up a run play for a loss of yardage.

The lone 7-on-7 period of practice featured the play of the day by the offense. Quarterback Gevani McCoy connected with tight end Jake Woods in double coverage. Woods got up over the two defenders for the 30-yard gain. McCoy showed his accuracy on the throw, fitting the ball into a very tight window where only Woods could make the play.

Redshirt senior linebacker Ty Davis kicked off the final 11-on-11 period with stellar football IQ. Davis diagnosed a run-pass option quickly, attacking in the backfield for a tackle for loss. Freshman Rameir Hardy, a St. Joseph's Prep product, flashed at wide receiver in the final period of the day. Hardy climbed the ladder to pull in a pass from Simon along the sidelines for a first-down.

Tuesday, August 5
The first day of full-pads is in the books at Edberg-Olson Hall. The Owls were padded up on a humid overcast day in North Philadelphia for a high-energy practice. Temple ran five team periods today, including some goal-line two-point conversion work at the end of practice.

Practice started with some high-flying plays by the offense. Quarterback Evan Simon connected with running back Jay Ducker on a swing route in which Ducker had 3-yards of separation between him and the defender up the sideline. Simon navigated the pocket well to complete the pass for 30-yards.

The first live period of fall camp was in the second team session. The defense came out physical as redshirt senior linebacker Charles Calhoun and fifth year defensive tackle Demerick Morris teamed up in the backfield for a tackle for loss. Simon would later connect with sophomore tight end Daniel Evert for one of the plays of the day. Evert took in a ball between two defenders and split the middle of them for an eventual touchdown. Simon fit the ball into a tight window, which allowed his tight end to run uncontested for the score. Another highlight play of the morning came from redshirt senior wide receiver Kajiya Hollawayne. Quarterback Gevani McCoy found the 6'4" wide out along the sideline where he made an acrobatic catch as he was falling out of bounds. The defender had outstanding coverage on the play, but Hollawayne made a better play.

After a short 7-on-7 period, the team moved to another 11-on-11 session where the defense stood out. Sophomore defensive end Sultan Badmus exploded into the backfield right from the jump to get heavy pressure in the face of the quarterback which ended the play. Redshirt senior defensive tackle Allen Haye showed his strength and athleticism later in that period as he shed multiple blocks at the line of scrimmage to get to the running back for a tackle for loss.

The final team period of the day featured a few flashy plays from the offensive side of the ball. Simon found another wide receiver streaking down the sideline in junior Xavier Irvin. Irvin had three-yards of separation between himself and the defender, which resulted in a 40-yard catch and run. McCoy was poised and rhythmic during his snaps in the final period, finding his receivers with accurate passes over the middle of the field on multiple occasions.

Wednesday, August 6
Competition reigned over Edberg-Olson Hall Wednesday morning. Head coach K.C. Keeler preached competition throughout today's practice, emphasizing that players cannot take any reps off, and that was displayed on the field.

The opening team period was balanced between the offensive and defensive highlights. Several stood out on the defensive side of the ball, especially linebacker Curly Ordonez. The junior perfectly timed a route in the flat and jumped it for the interception. Ordonez was untouched in the process. A lot of the success on offense was through wide receiver Colin Chase. The redshirt junior has a knack for making tightly contested catches along the sideline, which he did twice in the first period for big gains.

In the lone 7-on-7 period, junior corner back Omar Ibrahim had a nice pass break up early in the session. Ibrahim high-pointed the ball and fought through the receiver's hands to break up the completion. Quarterback Gevani McCoy connected late in the period with redshirt sophomore Kian Johnson for a long gain. The wide-out was crossing the middle of the field and was thrown open by McCoy for the completion.

The offensive line stood out early in the next team period of 11-on-11's. The first play the line created a massive hole on the right side of the line for running back Jay Ducker to run through, and he did just that. Ducker burst through the gap and outran defenders for a 40-yard gain. The defense got back, however, for its second interception of the day. Redshirt junior safety Avery Powell made the play along the sideline. He ran the play as if he we the receiver and jumped under the wide-out to pick off the ball. Corner back Ben Osueke picked off a ball a few plays later in a display of athleticism. The 5th year high-pointed the ball and held on to it as he came hard onto the ground with the pick.

The final team period featured an 11-on-11 'move the ball' period. The offense would start on its own 40-yard line and progress down the field in aims to score on the drive. Chase remained a popular target for the quarterbacks, and he scored the first touchdown. A jump-ball thrown to the front pylon by Evan Simon was perfectly placed and brought down by Chase. The receiver would then dazzle on the following drive, this time orchestrated by McCoy. On a go-ball up the sideline McCoy fit the ball into a tight window between two defenders to give Chase a chance on the play. He was met by hard contact but held onto the ball for the 30-yard gain. McCoy would then connect with Kajiya Hollawayne for a twisting grab of 35-yards before punching it into the end zone to JoJo Bermudez on a flat route across the goal line.

Thursday, August 7
A warm Thursday morning featured another full-pads practice for Temple Football at Edberg-Olson Hall. The Owls focused heavily on red zone plays throughout today's practice.

Team period one was 11-on-11 and was balanced out by solid offensive and defensive play. Linebacker Eric Stuart started off the session by bursting through the offensive line to put a lot of pressure on the quarterback. This pressure forces a quick throw to the receiver's feet for an incomplete pass. Evan Simon ended the period with a flashy play to his receiver JoJo Bermudez. The Owl's signal caller threw Bermudez open along the boundary and placed the ball perfectly. Bermudez hauled in the over-the-shoulder grab for a 30-yard gain.

Another full team period followed and featured highlight plays by the offense. The session began with an eye-opening grab by sophomore tight end Daniel Evert. The German reached up and pulled down the pass from Simon with one hand for a 35-yard gain. Evert displayed impressive footwork and ball skills as he stutter-stepped as the ball was in the air to gain an extra yard of separation. Simon and Bermudez shined in the second team session, as well. The duo connected for a touchdown in the red zone, about 25-yards out. Simon rolled to his right and threw a frozen rope to his receiver through tight coverage. Bermudez would then turn up field using his speed to avoid defenders for the score.

Redshirt senior linebacker Ty Davis started session three off with instant pressure on the quarterback. Davis forced the QB off his mark, moving him to the outside of the pocket, where he ultimately dumped the ball off for an incomplete pass. One of the better touch downs in the red zone period was made by running back Terrez Worthy. In the front corner of the end zone, the senior made a toe-tapping snag as he was falling out of bounds for the score. The ball was perfectly place in tight coverage.

Today's 7-on-7 period was also in the red zone area of the field. Cornerback Ben Osueke made a play on a jump ball in the end zone and came away with the interception for the defense. Osueke was sticky to his defender and made sure he was in prime position to make a play on the ball. Quarterback Gevani McCoy displayed his accuracy on a dart to running back Hunter Smith. The defender had tight coverage on Smith in the end zone, but the ball was placed perfectly by McCoy for the score.

The defense finished off the day strong in the final 11-on-11 period. Linebacker Katin Surprenant broke through blockers in the middle of the line to get to the quarterback, forcing him to roll outside and throw and incomplete pass. Safeties Louis Frye and Avery Powell read a flat route by the tight end rather quickly late in the period. Both shed their blockers and met at the ball carrier to end the play.

Friday, August 8
The Temple Owls held a walk-through today on Chodoff Field at Edberg-Olson Hall ahead of tomorrow's first intrasquad scrimmage. Following the scrimmage offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Tyler Walker is expected to speak with the media, along with redshirt senior quarterback Gevani McCoy and fifth year tight end Jake Woods.

Saturday, August 9
Saturday's practice at 10th and Diamond featured competition of the highest form, an intrasquad scrimmage between the offense and the defense. The coaches had the scrimmage scripted for various scenarios and situations throughout, while allowing the players to tackle and get a real game feel to practice.

The majority of the first half of play was controlled by the defense. All levels of the defense made plays whether it was affecting the quarterbacks, making sound tackles in the open field, or breaking up passes. The first turnover of the day happened due to a few different parties. While the quarterback was rolling left, defensive tackle Allen Haye got his hands up and tipped the ball into the air. Curly Ordonez snatched the ball out of the air for the interceptions. The defensive line was causing trouble for the offense for most of this period. Some success the offense had was through the running game. Running backs Jay Ducker and Terrez Worthy each followed prominent blocking through holes to gain sizable yardage.

Period two featured continued success for the defense, but quarterback Gevani McCoy got into a rhythm throwing the ball. On a slant route over the middle of the field McCoy his wideout Ian Stewart in stride on a nice timing route. McCoy would continue to be on time delivering the ball as he found Tyler Stewart for a completion to the boundary for a gain of 15-yards and a first down.

Throughout the scrimmage the coaches were mixing in different personnel. Redshirt sophomore quarterback Tyler Douglas entered for a short series and made the most of the snaps he had. Douglas was able to connect with wide receiver Kaegan Chambers for a nice gain. Chambers was following Douglas along the line of scrimmage and once he caught the ball he turned up field, evading defenders for a 15-yard gain. Freshman safety Jamarcus Pierre also made a flashy play during this period. From the secondary Pierre had good recognition of the play and made a break for the running back after a short completion. He then laid a big hit on the ball-carrier to end the play after a very short gain.

During a two-minute drill period, the defense made the play of the day. Linebacker Tyree Alualu made a play that could only be described to be out of Madden. On a route up the sideline by the running back, the quarterback made an outstanding throw to him in stride. However, with his eyes turned from the backfield, Alualu fought to the ground to gain control of the ball, and as he rolled back over the ball was in his hands. He ripped the ball away from the running back, much to his own surprise.

The offense would get back on track after a difficult couple of drives. McCoy would lead multiple touchdown series, finding different wideouts throughout. Bryson Goodwin caught the first touchdown of the day. Down within the 10-yard line, McCoy would roll to his right to find Goodwin in the corner of the end zone, who made a great catch for the score. A few drives later, McCoy would find wide receiver Tyler Stewart for another score. McCoy read the safeties perfectly as he threw a nice ball to his receiver over the middle of the field above the defenders' heads.

Monday, August 11
Week three of fall camp for Temple Football kicked off Monday morning under clear skies and warm temperatures. There were fewer team periods in today's practice compared to others, but the team got in a lot of reps in each session.

From play one of the first period, Evan Simon wanted to push the ball down the field in 11-on-11s. The quarterback found wide receiver JoJo Bermudez with a step on his defender as he was streaking up the sideline. This 'go ball' was placed perfectly by Simon, right over the shoulder of Bermudez for a 30-yard gain. Redshirt freshman Russell Sykes also flashed in the opening team period. The defensive tackle got quick pressure in the face of the quarterback, and as he was throwing the ball, Sykes got his hand up and batted the ball down for an incompletion.

Tyler Stewart continues to impress throughout fall camp, and during the second 11-on-11 period, this fact remained true. The sophomore wide receiver used his speed on multiple occasions, especially on the first touchdown of the session. Stewart took in an end around handoff and blew past his defenders as he navigated his way to the end zone. He was untouched throughout the play. Stewart also showed his receiving ability in the period, as he scored another touchdown for the offense. A beautifully floated ball by Simon to the back of the end zone was plucked out of the air by Stewart from 15-yards out.

The third and final team period was highlighted by a Ben Osueke interception early on. Osueke broke down towards the line of scrimmage but read the eyes of the quarterback who was looking deeper up the sideline. The 5th year cornerback then drifted back into coverage and snagged the ball out of the air for the interception. Tight end Daniel Evert made a great catch drifting towards the sideline to close out practice. Simon was rolling outside of the pocket, and Evert followed him in that direction. The sophomore pulled in the completion as he was falling to the ground for a 20-yard gain.

Tuesday, August 12
A hot and humid morning was the backdrop for Tuesday's practice at 10th & Diamond. Gray skies turned to sun as the team went through three live team periods with a two-point conversion period at the end.

The first play of the day was highlighted by JoJo Bermudez's quick speed. On an out route to the sideline quarterback Evan Simon found Bermudez with a step on his defender and he put the ball on him. The wide out would then turn up field blowing past the defenders for a 30-yard gain. Defensive end Brandon Enarusai made a nice play in the back field. The redshirt sophomore got to the quarterback at the mesh point of the hand off and wrapped up the running back for a tackle for loss.

The defensive line continued to have big moments through the morning. Redshirt senior linebacker Cam'Ron Stewart got a quick sack on the quarterback. His immediate pressure in the back field blew the play up and ended it rather quickly. Redshirt sophomore quarterback Patrick Keller saw action today and made the most of his snaps. Keller found wide receiver Antonio Jones crossing over the middle and put the ball on him with accuracy and rhythm. Jones would then get up field between defenders for 15-yards. Perhaps the play of the day, Colin Chase made a spectacular Randy Moss like catch. Simon delivered a perfect pass along the sideline, right over the defender's head. Chase would then pluck the ball off the defender's helmet and turn up field for a touchdown.

Linebackers Charles Calhoun and Tyree Alualu teamed up early in the third period in the back field for a big play on the defensive side of the ball. The duo each bull-rushed their blocker, enough to get into the quarterback's lap which ended the play. Willy Love added to the list of successful defensive plays during today's practice. Love made a play on the sideline where he stripped the ball free of the receiver. The receiver had the ball in his control until he contacted Love, who knocked the ball out of his hands and out of bounds.

The offense got two chances to convert two-point plays, and they were successful both times. Evan Simon and Gevani McCoy each threw passes to get the score. Simon took the ball and rolled to his right to find a wide-open Jay Ducker in the front of the end zone. McCoy allowed Chase to make his second massive catch of the day, and he did just that. A perfectly thrown back-shoulder pass was delivered to Chase who climbed the ladder over his defender and made sure he stayed in bounds for the score.

Wednesday, August 13
Wednesday's practice was a high-flying day for the offense with the wide receivers and quarterbacks making plays throughout each team period. The defense, however, made sure to get solid reps in, causing a few turnovers throughout the practice.

Team period one started off quick for Evan Simon. The signal caller distributed the ball effectively to his receivers. Kajiya Hollawayne pulled in a great pass from Simon with great coverage along the sideline. The redshirt senior was falling to the ground as he made the catch and secured the ball going to the ground.

Period two featured big plays from both sides of the ball. On a broken-down play, safety Javier Morton diagnosed the scramble drill perfectly. Morton read the quarterback's eyes as he moved outside of the pocket and tracked down the ball in the air for the toe-tapping grab along the sideline. JoJo Bermudez made one of the best grabs of camp, aided by an outstanding throw by Simon. On a go-ball up the sideline, the quarterback threw a ball that fell perfectly into Bermudez's hands. As the wide out was falling to the ground he secured the ball and maintained possession throughout, for what ended up being a 40-yard gain.

Redshirt freshman Adrian Laing made his second big play of camp in this morning's practice. On an overthrown ball by the quarterback, Laing showed off his athleticism and ball skills. He broke off his defender to make the diving catch in front of him and made sure to get his hands under the ball for the interception. Moving from defense to offense, it's time to show some love to the big men up front. Offensive lineman Mausa Palu made a big play that allowed running back Joquez Smith to break free for a 20-yard gain. Palu moved up to the second level of the defense and made key blocks allowing Smith to run in space. Concluding the third team period, wide receiver Xavier Irvin made an impressive catch along the sideline that required massive concentration. The cornerback had tight coverage on Irvin and even tipped the ball as it came in his direction, but he kept his focus on the ball even as it changed direction on him for the catch.

A shorter period of 11-on-11 concluded practice, and the defense won out here. Omar Ibrahim made what can only be described as a 'high IQ' football play. The junior cornerback read the quarterback and timed his break on the wide receiver perfectly. This resulted in an impressive interception right on the hip of the receiver.

Thursday, August 14
An overcast sky was the backdrop at Chodoff Field at Edberg-Olson Hall for the start of Thursday's practice. The Owls are approaching the start of the 2025 regular season and the K.C. Keeler era and each rep in practice gets increasingly more important.

Team period one started slow, but both sides of the ball got into it as the session went on. Wide receiver Ian Stewart made one of the best catches he's had during camp today. With Gevani McCoy distributing the ball, he placed it in a perfect back-shoulder position for Stewart to make the grab. As he twisted for the completion, he fell hard to the ground and held on through the process for a 20-yard gain. Zyil Powell had a standout tackle at the line of scrimmage. The Redshirt sophomore safety was up at the line on his defender and made a one-on-one stop, driving the ball carrier backwards for a loss of yardage.

Canadian tight end Ryder Kusch had his best period of camp during the second team session today. The freshman connected with both McCoy and Evan Simon for touchdowns, both being impressive plays. The first came from Simon and had everyone watching in awe. His defender had outstanding coverage in the back of the end zone, but thanks to a terrific pass by Simon, Kusch was the only one with a chance to come down with the ball, and he did. He caught it over his defender while twisting to keep his toes in bounds for the 20-yard touchdown. The second one was less acrobatic but showed his football IQ. From 13-yards out, Kusch saw a soft spot in coverage in the back of the end zone and drifted back, giving McCoy a wide-open target to throw to for the score. Not to be forgotten, but wide receiver Xavier Irvin made an impressive grab for a touchdown. The junior made a toe-tapping snag with his defender on him and McCoy threw a bullet to get the ball into that tight space.

In the third team session, Avery Powell showed his ability to cover his man tight. On a quick throw by the quarterback, Powell recognized the play and broke to the receiver and got there in the perfect amount of time to bat the ball down for the incompletion. On the offensive side, Colin Chase used his speed to elude defenders on an end around. This was made possible thanks to Kusch and his blocking ability. He made a key block up the field allowing for an extra 10-yards of space between Chase and the next defender.

The day ended with more red zone and goal line work. It all started off with a touchdown to running back Jay Ducker. Simon had two defensive linemen in his lap, but he stayed poised and floated the ball to Ducker, who then ran it in for the 10-yard score. One of the most energetic moments of camp featured running back Hunter Smith, and a vast number of defensive players cheering and screaming from the sideline. The defense gave the offense a tough environment to run a play in, but Smith was up to the challenge. The running back got the ball in space and had to go through a defender to get into the end zone from two yards out. He lowered his shoulder for the score which erupted the offense's sideline in jubilation.

Friday, August 15
The Temple Owls held a walk-through today on Chodoff Field at Edberg-Olson Hall ahead of tomorrow's intrasquad scrimmage. Following the scrimmage offensive line coach Al Johnson is expected to speak with the media, along with redshirt senior lineman Diego Barajas and redshirt sophomore lineman Luke Watson.

Saturday, August 16
A hot and humid morning at Chodoff Field at Edberg-Olson Hall was today's backdrop for fall camp for Temple Football. Today's practiced featured season-ticket holders attending the team's intrasquad scrimmage. Former Temple Football alumni also returned to 10th & Diamond. Former Single-Digit players Shaun Bradley (2016-19) and Amir Tyler (2018-21) came back to campus to check out the 2025 squad. Dominique Harris (2005-09) and Mike Hinnant also showed up and showed out for the current Owls.

Today's scrimmage featured two halves of consistent football on both sides of the ball. The offense made big plays throughout, but the defense stood stout for flashes too. The defense and Curly Ordonez showed the offense early it would be difficult to move the ball on them. The junior linebacker was untouched into the backfield on one of the first plays of the game. He got in the face of the quarterback for the 'sack'. Running back Terrez Worthy made sure the offense got back on track, however. Worthy took a handoff and used his speed and shiftiness to bounce to the outside on the right. Evading defenders by using his speed, he ran for a gain of 25-yards.

Still in the first half, Peter Clarke and Gevani McCoy found success in the red zone. On a seam route, Clarke didn't have much separation from his defender, but a perfect throw from McCoy allowed the tight end to have a chance at the ball. Clarke pulled the ball in over the top of the defender to make a toe-tapping catch for the score. Later in the half, a stalled drive in plus territory for the offense allowed redshirt sophomore kicker Carl Hardin to step in. Hardin lined up from 47-yards out and drilled the kick through the up rights.

Toward the end of the first half of play, perhaps the best two play sequence of the day occurred. Both passes were orchestrated by McCoy and they were as flashy as it gets. A go-ball to the right boundary about 30 yards up the field is how it started. True freshman receiver Ramier Hardy made the twisting grab with a defender in his face thanks to a perfectly thrown ball allowing him to even have a chance at making the play. On the very next play, a busted coverage allowed wide out Bryson Goodwin to break free. McCoy rolled to his right and noticed his receiver was uncovered and he laid it on him for the 40-yard touchdown.

The second half was a bit shorter than the first, but both sides of the ball continued to make plays. McCoy kept in his rhythm and found another receiver for a touchdown, this time with a bit more excitement. Xavier Irvin was well-covered in the end zone from 10-yards out, so much so that the throw to Irvin was tipped by the defender. This tip ended up going right into the hands of Irvin for the score. Once again in the red zone, the defense made a massive play to end the day. Redshirt freshman Adrian Laing laid a massive hit on his defender. A ball thrown behind the line of scrimmage was recognized early by the cornerback, and he took off. Laing sprinted forward and punished the receiver almost immediately after he secured the ball.

The final week of fall camp began with rainy conditions at 10th & Diamond this morning. Steady rainfall provided tough conditions for the quarterbacks and receivers, but the team got good reps in not so ideal conditions.

The first team period was through the hardest period of rain. The offensive line was not slowed down by the conditions and continued to open big holes for the running backs. Joquez Smith found one of those open gaps created by the line and burst through it for a solid gain of 15 yards. Evan Simon navigated the rain well and distributed the ball to receivers effectively. He connected with Tyler Stewart up the field along the sideline for a 25-yard gain. On the defensive side of the ball Tyrese Whitaker had a run-stopping burst through the line towards the end of the team period. The linebacker made his way through blocks quickly to wrap up the running back for a loss of yards.

To start the final team period of the day, the defense came out with a bang. Safety Javier Morton turned into a wide receiver to track the ball from the quarterback. Morton high-pointed the ball over the receiver and came down with the pick. Another big play from the safety position was made by Jamarcus Pierre. Crossing the field with his man, Pierre made sure he did not lose a step on him and once the ball came his way he interrupted the catch by putting his hand in there for an incompletion. The offensive play of the day was made by wide out Colin Chase, to no one's surprise. File this play under another acrobatic catch pulled in by the redshirt junior transfer. Gevani McCoy made a great throw to give Chase a chance at the ball. Chase jumped up high over his defender and came down with the ball for a 30-yard gain.

The intensity of camp was running rampant through today's practice, especially with the 2025 season looming on the horizon. Being this close to the start of the season head coach K.C. Keeler is emphasizing the details in everything the team does.

The first team period of the day featured a lot of ground and pound plays from the offensive side of the ball. Early on, running back Joquez Smith had his offensive linemen to thank for the hole in the middle of the line. Smith burst through the hole and evaded defenders for a 20-yard gain. The defense was able to keep the offense contained for the most part during this team period. Linebacker Curly Ordonez was able to use his football IQ to read the quarterback's movement outside of the pocket and pounced for the sack.

The second team period featured two parts, one of which was played in the red zone. Prior to arriving to the red zone portion, wide receiver Tyler Stewart made big plays for the offense. Even Simon first found the sophomore wide open up the field. A busted coverage allowed the wide out to break free and Simon put the ball on him for a 30-yard gain. Quarterback Tyler Douglas also found Stewart on a great timing route. Douglas fit the ball into a tight window and caught Stewart in stride. That connection resulted in a 15-yard gain.

Entering the red zone period, Gevani McCoy connected early with tight end Ryder Kusch for a touchdown. 15-yards out, McCoy hit Kusch on a seam route where he had two-steps on his defender and ran into the end zone for the score. It wasn't all successful for the offense, however. Cornerback Ben Osueke had perfect position on his man in the end zone to break up a completion. The other touchdown of the period was once again delivered by McCoy. The signal caller found wide receiver Kajiya Hollawayne falling in the front of the end zone. Hollawayne secured the ball to the ground for the score with the impressive grab.

Today marks the penultimate day of 2025 fall camp for Temple Football. The Owls hit the practice field this morning under cloudy and misty skies, a drastic change to the usual hot conditions.

The team was heavily focused on situational football during today's practice. The offense, defense, and special teams each had their moments of camp to work on certain game situations that are critical to the success of this team. The Owls hammered on the details in each instance, a point that head coach K.C. Keeler has emphasized since day one. Keeler is adamant that the teams who have the most success are the ones that perfect the small details.

Tomorrow will be the final day of fall camp and the team's local media day. Keeler, along with select members of the roster, will be available to local media at the conclusion of practice.

Thursday, August 21
Today marked the end of 2025 fall camp for Temple Football. The team continued to hammer details out before week one begins in the coming days.

There were limited 11-on-11 drills during today's practice, but the offensive side of the ball found success in certain instances. On the ground, the offensive line paved the way for running back Joquez Smith. Smith burst to the outside of the line for a gain of 20-yards. The guys up front did a great job sealing the edge for Smith, allowing him room to run untouched. Freshman wide receiver Ramier Hardy made a flashy play along the sideline. A perfect throw threw the defense found Hardy at the boundary, where he made a toe-dragging catch for a 20-yard gain.

Head coach K.C. Keeler met with the media following today's practice, alongside the recently announced single-digit members. Videos of each press conference can be viewed in the links below.

The Owls will now shift focus to Saturday, August 30 at 3:30 p.m. when the team heads to Amherst, Mass. to face the Massachusetts Minutemen. The game will be streamed on ESPN+.
