Temple Tennis Complex Named USTA Outstanding Facility Award Winner
8.27.25 | Men's Tennis, Women's Tennis
ORLANDO, Fla. – The USTA today announced that Temple University's Tennis Complex was named as one of 45 winners in the USTA's annual Outstanding Facility Awards program, which recognizes excellence in the construction and/or renovation of tennis facilities throughout the country. Temple was honored yesterday at an awards reception held at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center in New York as part of the 2025 US Open.
"Temple's brand new 52,000 square foot tennis complex is not only elevating their varsity programs but has also made a significant impact on their community," said Temple Vice President of Student Affairs, Jodi Bailey.
"They have expanded their community outreach efforts, including their new Elementary School Partnership Program, which brings tennis directly into local schools. Through all these initiatives, Temple University introduces an impressive 200 to 250 new players to the sport each year. I almost said Tennis University; it might as well be because they are amazing. Congratulations to Temple University."
Facilities were judged on the following criteria: overall layout and adaptation to site; excellence of court surface and lights; ease of maintenance; accommodations for players, spectators and press/officials; aesthetics; graphics (including the use of signs and landscaping); amenities such as casual seating for spectators, food services and social areas; and the facilities' participation in grassroots tennis programs.
