Owls Open 2025 Volleyball Season in North Dakota

PHILADELPHIA - Temple women's volleyball will open its 2025 campaign at the NDSU/UND Invite in North Dakota. The Owls are set to face Bowling Green University on Friday, Aug. 29, at 2:00 p.m. ET, North Dakota State on Saturday, Aug. 30, at 12:00 p.m. ET, and North Dakota on Sunday, Aug. 31, at 11:30 a.m. ET. All matches will be streamed on the Summit League Network.

News in the Nest
Temple has nine returners, highlighted by sophomore Christiana Greene and junior Lexi Yoza, who are coming off standout seasons. Greene, an All-AAC Freshman Team honoree, played all 30 matches in 2024 and recorded four double-digit kill matches, including a 15-kill performance vs. Tulane. Yoza, the Owls' primary setter, ranked sixth in the AAC with 8.20 assists per set. She totaled 845 assists and delivered eight double-doubles, capped by 50 assists and 21 digs at Charlotte. Head coach Linda Hampton-Keith is entering her fourth season with the Owls.

Scouting Bowling Green
After finishing (25-10, 16-2 MAC), Bowling Green was picked first in the MAC preseason poll, earning 10 first-place votes and 119 points. The Falcons placed three players on the Preseason All-MAC Team: Jessica Andrews (160 blocks in 2024), Lauryn Hovey (MAC Player of the Year, AVCA All-America Honorable Mention), and Amanda Otten (1,436 career assists). Alex DelPiombo enters her first season as the Falcons' head coach.

Bowling Green leads the all-time series 3-0 dating back to 1975. The last time the Owls and Falcons faced off was in 2008.

Scouting North Dakota State
North Dakota State finished its 2024 campaign (12-14, 8-8 Summit League). NDSU has seven returners and 11 newcomers. Jennifer Lopez enters her eighth season with the Bisons. Lopez joined the North Dakota State volleyball staff as an assistant in May 2015, was named NDSU's interim head coach in May 2017, and was officially appointed the program's 12th head coach in October 2017.

Scouting North Dakota
North Dakota (9–18, 2–14 Summit League) is led by seniors Paige Barber (251 kills) and Izzie McCormick (383 digs). Head coach Jesse Tupac joined the Fighting Hawks in 2021 and enters his fourth season at the helm.
