COLUMBUS, OHIO – The Temple men's soccer team held No. 25 Dayton to zero goals as the Owls drew the Flyers 0-0 in the opening match of the Wolstein Classic, hosted by Ohio State. With the Draw, the Owls record shifts to 0-2-1 while the Flyers move to 1-0-2.

Temple men's soccer will now gear up for game two of the Wolstein Classic against the Ohio State Buckeyes on Sunday, Aug. 31. The action from Jesse Owens Memorial Stadium in Columbus, Ohio is slated for a 7:00 p.m. start time with the action streaming exclusively on Big Ten Plus.

How it Happened
- Dayton flew out of the gates aggressively, tallying six shots and earning three corner kicks in the opening half.
- Temple's defense held strong through the first 45 minutes, with Diego Dauzier snagging his first save in the 28th minute to keep the match even at the break.
- The Flyers continued to apply pressure in the second frame, adding in nine more shots and six additional corner kicks.
- Dauzier made five second-half saves to preserve the clean sheet, including back-to-back stops in the 81st minute.
- The Owls surged late with Charlie Votel hitting the left post in the 77th minute and Luka Lukic firing a header just over the crossbar in the 79th. Despite the late push, the match ended in a 0-0 draw, Temple's first of the 2025 campaign.
- Dauzier recorded his first clean sheet of his collegiate career. The Owls recorded seven clean sheets during the 2024 campaign, including a stretch of five in a row.
- Four Owls played the full 90 minutes including Nore Sumner, Lukas Egarter, Luka Lukic, and Paolo Kampula.
- With his shot in the 77th minute, Votel currently leads the Owls in total shots.
