Owls Show Strong Fight in Loss to NDSU at NDSU/NDU Invite

FARGO, ND - Temple women's volleyball (0-2) fell short to North Dakota State University (2-0) (25-20, 25-21, 25-17), Saturday afternoon at Bentson Bunker Field house on the second day of the NSDU/NDU Invite.Â
HOW IT HAPPENED
SET 1 (Temple 20, NDSU 25)
Temple will face North Dakota University on the final day of the NDSU/NDU Invite. The match is set to begin at 11:30 a.m. and will be streamed live on the Summit League Network.

HOW IT HAPPENED
SET 1 (Temple 20, NDSU 25)
- The Owls opened the match with a kill by Jaya Moore, assisted by Lexi Yoza.
- After a 4-0 run by NDSU, Leia Harper ended the streak with a kill, followed by a block from Katie Hickey and Moore, narrowing the Bisons' lead to 4-3.
- Temple then went on two runs, 4-0 and 3-0, fueled by aces, blocks, and kills, to take a 13-12 lead.
- Christiana Greene answered with back-to-back blocks, extending Temple's lead to 19-17.
- However, NDSU closed out the set with a 4-0 run to take the set, 25-20.
- Olivia Hummel and Greene accounted for the Owls' first four points, giving Temple an early 4-2 lead.
- The Owls mounted a 5-0 run to close the gap, pulling within one at 14-13.
- MeMe Cardwell then notched her first collegiate kill to tie the score at 19-19, forcing the Bisons to call a timeout.
- Despite Temple's fight, NDSU took the set, 25-21.
- Temple came out strong with kills from Hummel, Yoza, and Harper, taking an early 5-2 lead.
- However, the Owls struggled offensively, while NDSU quickly pulled away, securing the third set, 25-17.
- Temple dominated at the net in the first set, recording five team blocks, including four solo blocks by Alyssa Finister and three solo blocks from Greene.
