Men’s Soccer to Face Missouri State in Conference Opener

SPRINGFIELD, Mo. - The Temple University men's soccer team will close its four-game road trip on Friday night as the Owls will face the Missouri State Bears on Sept. 12. Kickoff is set for 8 p.m. EST, with the action streaming exclusively on ESPN+. Entering the contest, Temple has a 0-3-2 record while Missouri State is 2-1-1.
Scouting Temple
- This is the first in-conference match of the season for the Owls. Last year, Temple compiled a 2-2-1 record in conference play, enough to clinch a spot in the tournament.
- Elliot Rigbert hit the back of the net for his first career goal last time out against Army. For his efforts, Rigbert was named to the American Conference's honor roll.
- The Owls have been alternating goalies so far in the campaign, as TU leads the American Conference with 24 saves.
Scouting Missouri State
- Missouri State enters Friday night coming off a 0-0 draw against Central Arkansas. Goalkeeper Will Lowry earned the clean sheet and leads the conference with a .400 goals against average.
- This is the first season for Missouri State as a member of the American Conference for Men's Soccer. Last season, the Bears went 12-4-2 in the Missouri Valley Conference, clinching a spot in the NCAA Tournament.
- Head Coach Michael Seabolt is in his fourth season leading Missouri State. Seabolt has a combined record of 38-11-10, earning a trip to the NCAA Tournament each year.
Series History against Missouri State
This marks the first-ever meeting between Temple and Missouri State. The Bears are only the second team from Missouri that Temple has faced in program history, joining the Saint Louis Billikens.
