Men's & Women's Cross Country Soar into State College

PHILADELPHIA - The Temple cross country teams will race Friday, Sept. 12th, in the Harry Groves Spiked Shoe Invitational hosted by Penn State University. The Owls look to continue their momentum from their third annual Temple Owl Invitational. The women's race will start at 10 A.M and the men's at 10:45 A.M.

Previewing the Owls:
  • The men's team kicked off the season with a victory at their home invitational, thanks to a first-place finish from Simeon Shappell-Smith. Three other owls placed in the top 10.
  • Freshman Rose Tuomisto placed 10th in her college debut in the home meet. The women finished fifth out of seven teams at the Temple Owl Invitational.
  • This Friday, six women and eight men will represent the Cherry & White.

  • Amelia Sabatino
  • Brooke Shellenberger
  • Dagny Shiffler
  • Maya Gomes
  • Reese Morgan
  • Rose Tuomisto
Men 5.2 Mile:
The Field:
  • On the women's side, there will be nine other teams in attendance, and eight others for the men.
  • Last season, the men finished ninth out of 18 teams.
  • The women are poised for a comeback after not placing last year.
  • At last year's meet, Graham Thomas led all Temple runners with a 30th-place finish.
  • Penn State won for the women last year, and Syracuse won for the men.
