Owls Finish Perfect Weekend with 3-0 Win Over Dartmouth

PHILADELPHIA - Temple women's volleyball (9-4) swept Dartmouth College (2-7) on the final day of the Cherry & White Invitational. The Owls defeated all opponents for a perfect 3-0 weekend at McGonigle Hall. Christiana Greene hit .550 with 11 kills to help lead the Owls to victory over the Big Green.
HOW IT HAPPENED
SET 1 (Temple 25, Dartmouth 18)
Olivia Hummel's ace sparked Temple's 4-0 scoring run, giving them an early 8-6 lead.
Daniella Gonzalez Murati's kill ignited the momentum to close out the set. Christiana Greene and Leia Harper combined for four of the final seven points as the Owls took set one, 25-18.
Harper led the way with eight kills, hitting .333.
SET 2 (Temple 25, Dartmouth 14)
Back-to-back kills from Greene helped Temple jump out to a 4-0 start in the second set.
Alyssa Finister made her presence known at the net with two blocks, keeping the Owls in control at 10-5.
Temple's 9-2 run was powered by two aces from Hummel, along with kills from Finister and Harper.
Katie Hickey added to the lead with an assisted block and a kill, extending Temple's advantage to 19-8.
Hitting .500 as a team, the Owls pulled away to take set two, 25-14.
SET 3 (Temple 25, Dartmouth 22)
Temple's offense came out strong again, opening with a four-point lead at 12-8.
Gonzalez-Murati sealed the match with a kill, giving the Owls a 25-22 win and the 3-0 sweep.
