Pair of Owls in Top 10 After First Day of Temple Invitational

PLYMOUTH MEETING, Pa. - Sophomore newcomer William Jun stands at four-under par and in third place individually following the first day of the Temple Invitational on Monday. Jun carded back-to-back rounds under par (69, 67) and is three shots off the pace set by Lehigh's Jake Roth.
Senior Jake Naese also sits near the top of the leaderboard in a tie for ninth place, which included a one-under par 69 for his second round. As a team, the White squad led by Jun ranks eighth place while the Cherry team is one position behind in ninth.

- In his first event at Temple following a redshirt season at USF, Jun got off to a hot start in round one by birdieing two of his first three holes to stand at two-under par.Â
- A run of eight straight pars was followed by a birdie on the 11th hole of The 1912 Club, and Jun finished his one-under par 69 round with a birdie on the par-3 16th.Â
- The Florida native continued his impressive play later in the day, carding five birdies and a pair of bogeys for his three-under par score.
- Jun birdied three straight holes (12-14) during his round and also registered nine straight pars -- all on the front nine.
- Through two rounds, Jun ranks first in par-4 scoring at three-under par, in a tie for fourth in par-3 scoring at even par, and fifth overall with nine birdies.
- Naese was also impressive on the par-4 holes at The 1912 Club, tying for sixth in the field at even par.
- Another Florida product, Naese tallied 11 pars and four birdies against three bogeys for his one-under par round two.
- Drexel currently leads the team portion of the tournament by one stroke over Lehigh heading into the second and final day.
- The third and final round of the Temple Invitational will commence on Tuesday, Sept. 23.
- Teams will begin to tee off at 7:30 a.m., with the leaders scheduled to go off around 11:20 a.m.
