PHILADELPHIA – Temple women's soccer (3-9-0, 0-3-0 AAC) came up short against No. 25 Rice (8-1-1, 2-1-1 AAC) on Thursday night, falling 1-0 at the Temple Sports Complex after conceding the game's only goal in the 57th minute.

How It Happened

The match was tightly contested through the first half, with both teams going into the break scoreless. Rice held a slight edge in shots, 3-2.
Early in the second half, Rice broke through as Naija Bruckner scored in the 57th minute. Jadyn Jaeger and Leah Chancey assisted on the play.
Rice controlled the second half, outshooting Temple 9-2 and finishing with a 12-4 advantage overall.
Freshman goalkeeper Taylor Vecchione had a strong night in net, recording five saves to keep the Owls within reach.
