Temple Bounces Back with 3-1 Road Win at Bucknell

LEWISBURG, Pa. – After a scoreless first half, Lucia Magro broke through in the third quarter and the Temple University field hockey team added a pair of goals in the fourth to earn a 3-1 victory over Bucknell on Sunday morning at Graham Field.
The Owls (3-1) returned to the win column after falling at Monmouth on Friday. The Bison (2-2) dropped their second game of the season following a 3-0 win over Saint Francis (Pa.) earlier in the weekend.
Magro, Mathea Lassale and Kathryn Gauvin each scored goals for Temple.
How It Happened
Bucknell managed the lone shot of the first quarter, sending a high attempt just wide of the cage.
Temple generated six shots and four penalty corners in the second quarter but was unable to capitalize, sending the teams into halftime scoreless.
With 10:22 left in the third, Magro converted a penalty stroke for her team-leading third goal of the season.

Lassale doubled the lead midway through the fourth, carrying possession into the circle and blasting home her second goal of the year.

The Bison avoided a shutout in the 53rd minute when Nicky Punt inserted to Bella Notaro, who set up Leclercq for the score.
Temple restored its two-goal cushion with less than four minutes to play. Peyton Rieger found space on a breakaway and connected with Gauvin, who finished into an open cage for her second goal of the season.
