Men's Soccer Secures Three Weekly Recognitions From American, Philly Soccer Six

PHILADELPHIA-Â The Temple men's soccer team collected three awards from both the American Conference and the Philly Soccer Six after a 1-1 draw against the Army Black Knights. Elliot Rigbert earned an honorable mention from the American, while Jayden Jackson and Luka Lukic collected Defensive Player and Rookie of the Week honors, respectively, from the Philly Soccer Six.
Rigbert netted the first goal of his collegiate career on Friday, Sept. 5, in a match against Army. Rigbert stayed active in the attack for the remainder of the match, playing a key role in stringing together numerous Temple attacks throughout the evening, which ended in a 0-0 draw.
Jackson played a key role in his first start of the season during Temple's match against Army. His contributions enabled the Owls to allow zero goals in open play during the match. This is the second consecutive week an Owl has earned this honor.
Lukic earned his second consecutive Rookie of the Week honor from the Philly Soccer Six. The Freshman from Austria has established himself as an essential part of the Owl defense, as Lukic, in combination with Jackson, stopped numerous Black Knight attacks on Friday night.
The Owls will be back in action on Friday, Sept. 12, against Missouri State. The match is slated to start at  8 P.M. EST with the match streaming exclusively on ESPN+.
