GREENVILLE, N.C. – The Temple women's basketball team (7-10, 1-4 American) came up short against the East Carolina Pirates (14-6, 5-1 American), falling 81-65 in Greenville on Saturday afternoon. Kaylah Turner led the Owls with 17 points, shooting 6-for-18 from the field and 3-for-10 from behind the arc. Tristen Taylor added 16 points, while Saniyah Craig scored 14 and Jaleesa Molina finished with 11.

How It Happened
First Quarter

Saniyah Craig got the Owls on the board with a layup.
Following a Savannah Brooks layup, the Pirates went on a 6-0 run to take a 6-2 lead.
Temple went scoreless for nearly three minutes after Craig's opening basket.
Tristen Taylor knocked down a three to end the drought, cutting the deficit to 6-5.
The Pirates answered with a three from Jayla Hearp to extend the lead to 9-5.
