Owls Ride Hot Streak into Rice Showdown

The Temple women's basketball team completed a historic comeback to defeat Charlotte, 83–82, at home on Saturday afternoon.
The Owls erased a 26-point deficit against Charlotte, tying for the third-largest comeback in NCAA history and marking the largest comeback in program history.
Tristen Taylor led the Owls with 32 points, setting a new career high. She went 10-for-13 from the field and a perfect 6-for-6 from behind the arc. Taylor scored 17 points in the fourth quarter and scored the final 10 points for the Owls.
Kaylah Turner finished with 17 points after going 5-for-10 from the field and 2-for-3 from behind the arc.
Felicia Jacobs finished with a plus-minus of +23 in the 83–82 win over Charlotte.
Temple only led for the final three seconds of the game. The Owls outscored Charlotte 29–6 in the fourth quarter, while going on a 19–2 run starting at the 6:40 mark.
In the fourth quarter, Temple shot 55.6% from the field (10-for-18) and went 6-for-8 from behind the arc.

Scouting the Owls

Rice enters this matchup with a perfect 7–0 record in conference play. They are 17–3 overall and are currently on a 12-game winning streak, which ties for the second-longest in program history. Their last loss came on Nov. 28 to UCF, 57–56.
The Owls finished eighth last season, going 17–17 overall with a conference record of 7–11. They were picked to finish third this season according to the preseason poll.
Rice is led by senior guard Dominique Ennis, who has 258 points this season, giving her an average of 12.9 points per game. Ennis was tabbed as one of five players named to the preseason all-conference first team. She also leads the team in field goals made (92), three-pointers made (54), and steals (36).
Hailey Adams leads her squad in minutes played (671), rebounds (213), assists (71), and blocks (31).
The last time Rice faced Temple was in the AAC semifinals last season, with Rice coming out on top, 67–49.

Jaleesa Molina, Tristen Taylor, and Kaylah Turner have been named team captains for the 2025–26 season.
Taylor and Molina are the only returning starters from the 2024–25 roster.
Taylor averaged 6.7 points and a team-high 3.6 assists per game last season.
Molina averaged 7.4 points and seven rebounds per game while shooting 52.5% from the field.
Turner appeared in 31 games (two starts), averaging 10.1 points per game—third-highest on the team—while shooting 41% from the field and 37% from three-point range.
