Owls Outlast Tulane in Overtime Thriller

NEW ORLEANS, La – The Temple women's basketball team (10-11, 4-5 American) pulled out an overtime thriller on Saturday evening, defeating the Tulane Green Wave (8-12, 3-5 American), 67-65, in New Orleans. Kaylah Turner led the Owls with 27 points, shooting 10-for-17 from the field and 3-for-5 from beyond the arc. With her second-quarter three-pointer, Turner eclipsed 1,000 points for her collegiate career.

How It Happened
First Quarter
  • Tristen Taylor delivered a fantastic pass to Kaylah Turner to put the Owls on the board first.
  • Taylor followed with a driving layup to make it 6-2 Temple with 7:31 remaining.
  • Jaleesa Molina converted an and-one to give the Owls a 9-2 advantage.
  • Tulane committed four turnovers over a two-minute span.
  • Both teams hit a lull, as neither scored for more than two minutes.
  • Amira Mabry finished a tough layup and converted the free throw to cut the deficit to 11-4.
