- Temple is coming off a 50–47 loss at home to UTSA on Saturday, marking its first home loss of the season.
- Tristen Taylor led the Owls in scoring with 18 points, shooting 5-for-12 from the field and 2-for-5 from beyond the arc.
- Drew Alexander added 11 points on 4-for-10 shooting, including 3-for-9 from three-point range.
- Saniyah Craig pulled down 11 rebounds against UTSA, recording back-to-back games with double-digit rebounds.
- Kaylah Turner grabbed a season-high seven rebounds and logged a season-high 38 minutes against the Roadrunners.
- The Owls scored just 18 points in the first half, their lowest first-half total of the season and the fewest since last season's game against Princeton.

- Wichita State went 4–14 in American Athletic Conference play last season and finished with a 10–22 overall record. The Shockers are projected to finish second-to-last in the conference this season, according to the preseason poll.
- Wichita State enters the game on a three-game losing streak, including losses to AAC opponents Tulsa and Tulane.
- The Shockers are coming off a 70–60 loss to Tulane. Jaila Harding (18 points) and Diamond Richardson (15 points) were the only players to score in double figures. As a team, Wichita State shot 22-for-56 from the field and 22.7% (5-for-22) from three-point range.
- Harding leads the team in scoring with 204 points through 15 games, averaging 13.6 points per game. She also leads the team in three-point percentage at .377 (49-for-130).
