Owls Improve to 4–0 With Dominant Road Win

LAWRENCEVILLE, NJ - Temple women's lacrosse (4–0) earned a 16–6 victory over Rider (1–2) Wednesday evening at Ben Cohen Field. Ten different Owls found the back of the net, led by Lily Caravela and Kali Saito, who each recorded their first career hat tricks.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Lexi Culp opened the scoring with an unassisted goal three minutes into the first quarter. Rider answered with back-to-back goals within a minute, but Amelia Wright responded with two goals just 20 seconds apart to give Temple a 3–2 lead.
Jenna Facciolli added a free-position goal, followed by scores from Sabrina Martin, Sarah Gowman, and Lily Caravela to extend the Owls' advantage to 8–3 at the end of the first quarter.
Kali Saito opened the second quarter with her first goal of the season making it 9–3. Freshman Brooke Mazzei netted her first career free-position goal, and Kathryn Harding followed with a score to push Temple's lead to 11–3 at halftime.
Culp struck again just 20 seconds into the third quarter. Laura Conner gave the Owls a double-digit lead, 13–3, midway through the period. Rider Hannah Kozik found the net to trim the deficit to 13–4 heading into the final frame.
Marissa Ross scored to open the fourth quarter for the Broncs, but Temple continued to push offensively, closing out the 16–6 victory.
