Temple Faces Ranked Penn Before Returning Home

PHILADELPHIA – Temple women's lacrosse will take on another split week, traveling across town to face Penn on Wednesday before returning to Howarth Field on Friday to host Delaware State for Temple Experience Day.
OWLS IN THE NEST
Freshman Brooke Mazzei converted her first career free-position goal, and Jayne Michaels recorded her first collegiate assist during last week's games. The Owls also scored a season-high eight goals in the first quarter against Rider.
Temple ranks second in The American in scoring offense. Amelia Wright currently ranks fifth in the conference in goals per game (2.0), while Lexi Culp sits third in points per game, averaging 4.0. Wright scored six goals with one assist in two wins.
Goalkeeper Riley Horoshko recorded 25 saves over the two games last week, allowing just nine goals. She ranks first nationally and in the conference in save percentage and sits second in The American in goals-against average.
Temple is ranked 15th nationally and first in the conference in caused turnovers, led by Sabrina Martin (11). Martin also recorded a career-high six draw controls last week. Kathryn Harding posted a career-high three caused turnovers over Rider.
SCOUTING NO. 17 PENN
Penn enters the matchup with a 1–1 record after falling to Johns Hopkins in its most recent contest. Catherine Berkery leads the Quakers with seven goals through two games. Penn has totaled 24 draw controls this season, paced by Maggie Bankowski with 16.
Temple holds a 23–13 all-time series advantage over Penn.
SCOUTING DELAWARE STATE
Delaware State begins the 2026 season 0-2, Anna Kimbel leads the Hornets with two goals. Delaware State forced 10 caused turnovers against La Salle, with Madden Alexander, Madison Gibson, and Blake Tutman recording two apiece.
Friday's contest will mark the first-ever meeting between Temple and Delaware State.
