Inara Shell Wins Silver as Owls Close out Indoor Conference Championships

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - Temple University's women's indoor track and field team completed the final day of the American Conference Indoor Track & Field Championships. The two-day meet was being held at the Birmingham CrossPlex in Birmingham, Ala. Inara Shell placed second in the triple jump with a distance of 12.82m (42'-0.75") earning her the silver medal in the event. The Owls ended the conference championships in 11th out of 13 schools, with a total of 25 points. North Texas took home the women's championship with a total of 90 points.

  • Rose Tuomisto set a new personal record in the 3,000m with a time of 10:04.04. Rian Johnson also competed in this event and she came across the line at 10:22.94.
  • Smilla Ranebro placed 13th in the high jump after clearing the bar at 1.60m (5'-3.00"). 
  • Reagan Schwartz finished in eighth in the triple jump with a distance of 12.16m (39'-10.75"). Sophomore Deja Scott set a new personal record in the triple jump after reaching 11.81m (38'-9.00"). Also competing in this event was Shalisha Robertson, the freshman finished the event with a distance of 11.70m (38'-4.75").

The final event of the indoor season will be the NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships in Fayetteville, Ark. The meet will take place Friday, March 13.
