Women’s Tennis Set for Pair of Matches vs. Fordham and Bucknell

NEW YORK – The Temple University women's tennis team is set for a pair of matches this weekend, facing the Fordham Rams on Friday afternoon and then taking on the Bucknell Bison on Sunday

SCOUTING TEMPLE

The Owls are coming off their first win of the season against Cleveland State, winning 4-3.
Irmak Ozturk highlighted the weekend for the Owls, pairing with Tianni Zhou in a sweep in doubles while earning a two-set victory in singles play.
Against the Mountaineers on Saturday, Temple fell 4-1 with Ozturk pulling away for the lone victory on the day.

Scouting Fordham

The Rams enter Friday with a 1-5 record, posting a win against Drexel, 6-1.
Junior Aya Matsunaga leads the team in singles victory, earning individual wins against Drexel, Syracuse and Boston College.
Head Coach Michael Sowter is in his fifth year as head coach of Fordham Women's Tennis. Sowter's Rams earned the first seed in the Atlantic 10 last year with a 16-5 record.

Scouting Bucknell

Bucknell has began 2026 with an undefeated 3-0 record with wins against Saint Joseph's, Mount St. Mary's and Mercyhurst.
Team captain Mirra Manolov was desicive in Bucknell's win against Saint Joseph's winnning the deciding match in a 4-3 win.
Head Coach Tammy Cecchini is in her seventh season leading the Bison. Only being the fourth head coach in program history, she has compiled a combined record of 70-68 through her tenure.
