PRs Highlight Split Weekend for Track & Field

3.22.26 | Women's Track and Field

PHILADELPHIA - Temple University's women's track and field team wrapped up its first outdoor meets of the season with a split weekend at the River City Relays and the Penn Challenge. Kamryn Ohm took home second place in the pole vault after clearing a height of 3.65m (11'-11.75").

  • Reagan Schwartz reached a distance of 5.28m (17'-4") in the long jump.
  • Sophomore Chloe Smith placed fourth out of 13 athletes in the 400m hurdles after coming across the line with a new personal record of 1:03.61. Dicia Watkins finished seventh in the event with a time of 1:06.62.
  • Temple had six athletes compete in the 200m dash. Mariah Jameson was the top runner for the Owls as she finished in fourth out of 33 competitors with a time of 24.47. Setting a new personal record for the sophomore. Lila Ziegler came in tenth with a new personal record of 24.84. Briyel Brown (25.39), Kenya Merritt (25.44), Grace Hickman (25.53), and Janae Pettaway (26.07) rounded out the rest of the group and all ended the event with a new personal record. 
  • Rian Johnson finished fourth out of 20 athletes in the 1500m run with a time of 4:40.49. Setting a personal record for the freshman. Rose Tuomisto placed 11th in this event after setting a new personal record of 4:51.14.
  • In the triple jump, Deja Scott came in third after reaching a distance of 11.82m (38'-9.50"). Marking a personal record for the sophomore. 
  • Johnson (2:16.08) and Tuomisto (2:23.12) also competed in the 800m dash.
  • Jameson led the Owls in the 400m dash after finishing in sixth place with a time of 56.57. Hickman came in 15th with a time of 58.41. Rounding out the group for Temple was Laila Cottom (1:00.50) and Watkins (1:02.62).
  • Ziegler was the only Owl to compete in the 100m dash and she ran a time of 12.13. 
  • The 4x400m relay team of Hickman, Brown, Johnson, Cottom, and Smith placed sixth in the event with a time of 4:01.52.

Temple will travel to Raleigh, N.C. for the Raleigh Relays on Mar. 26-28.
