Men's Golf Battles Through Tough Scoring Conditions on Second Day of Cutter Creek Intercollegiate

3.28.26 | Men's Golf

SNOW HILL, N.C. - The 14-team field at the Cutter Creek Intercollegiate struggled to score throughout the day on Saturday, with Temple's men's golf team wrapping up day two of the event.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • On average, teams playing on Saturday performed 17.6 strokes worse than Friday including Gardner-Webb, who went seven-under par on Friday and 29-over par on Saturday.
  • The Owls stand in ninth place after 36 holes, just five strokes behind Radford for sixth place.
  • Senior Aidan Emmerich was the top performer individually for Temple, moving into the top 20 after a one-over par round of 73.
  • Emmerich was one of just 13 of the 92 players to shoot 73 or better on the day.
  • The back nine for the Owls was much better than the front, as sophomore William Jun led the charge with a one-under par 35.
  • Jun, who carded a four-over 76 in tough conditions, tallied four birdies over his final nine holes, with his lone blemish coming on the par-3 17th.
  • Emmerich shot even par 36 on the back, with a pair of birdies and bogeys along the way.
UP NEXT
  • East Carolina holds a three-shot lead over Campbell heading into the third and final day of action on Sunday, March 29.
