Tomé Earns First Top-Five Finish of Career at Princeton Invitational

4.12.26 | Men's Golf

PRINCETON, N.J. - Sophomore Mason Tomé tied for fourth individually to lead the Temple University men's golf team at the Princeton Invitational over the weekend.

Tomé posted rounds of 68-73-73 to finish one shot out of runner-up position. Princeton's Reed Greyserman ran away with the individual title with a seven-shot victory, with Harvard taking the team title.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • After a small hiccup on his second hole, the par-3 11th, Tomé put together an impressive stretch of golf over the next 12 holes.
  • The West Palm Beach, Florida native went three-under par over that stretch to move into second place individually.
  • Though the final four holes were tough sledding for the sophomore, Tomé closed the 54-hole event with the top individual finish of any Owl this season.
  • Playing as an individual, Darren Nolan put together his best round of the tournament at three-over par 74. The round included one of the 11 eagles all tournament on the 490-yard, par-5 12th hole.
  • For the tournament, Tomé tallied 14 birdies to tie for third among the 75 golfers in the field.
UP NEXT
